It’s been a few years, but I made my way back to the promised land (The #7) ifykyk Taqueria El Lugar was the main reason why I started mowing yards at the age of 12. I was staying the night at a friends house and his parents took us to the original location. That’s where I first tried it 25 years ago. It was so good to me, I knew that I would do whatever it took to eat there more often. Seeing as I grew up in a less fortunate family, that meant I had to make my own money. Thus the reason for mowing yards. I continued to eat there over the years and I never grew tired of it. Towards the end, I started to notice the quality going down and the price going up, so I stopped going all together. That all changed when I decided to give them another shot yesterday for lunch and I couldn’t be any happier. As soon as I took a bite of that number 7, I felt like I was instantly in the 8th grade all over again. The meat was juicy and very tender. There was little to no gristle at all. Everything about it was excellent. I also ordered a number 6 (meat, cheese, tortilla) with added cilantro. It was also on point. Of course the sauces complement the food so well and added another layer of flavor, mixed with a healthy squeeze of a fresh lime As long as they keep making me number 7’s like this, they’ll definitely be staying in my rotation.

I had the super quesadilla. It was loaded with beef, avocado, tomatoes, and jalapeños wrapped in a freshly made flour tortilla. Overall it was good but a little salty with too much grizzle and fat that made it hard to chew. The outside of the store looks pretty rough, but the inside very nice and clean. The servers were very helpful and kind. And the music was great!!! I’ll definitely be coming back.

Absolutely love this place. I've lived in New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California and El Lugar really hits alot of my previous home towns flavor profiles. It's definitely not Tex Mex and more of an authentic Mexican comfort food heaven. Their red and green sauce is yummy and not for sissies but the salsa is more of a mild medium so even the sissies can enjoy.

Worst taco shop in town. Came in at 7:32 and before a greeting the lady at the counter said it was for Togo. They do not close until 9Pm. I have ordered the supreme taco jr. I wanted el pastor. Rudely the lady said she didn’t have it beef or chicken. I continue the order of ordering a quesadilla with chicken. The cooks look at us disgusting both cooks. I continue to be polite. The price for 2 meals including rice and beans and 2 drinks was 30 dollars. Was not worth it. I took my order and when I got back in my car to examine my food. Oil already leaking out of the paper bag due to this making a hole not even 5 min of me having this order. The rice and bean lid had a thickness of a dime-size of oil. My taco most of was veggies and oil. The quesadilla was another taco and oil. Very disappointing and disgusting taco shop. It also rewind my pants due to so much oil. The reason being of me to continue to eat this meal is due to the price and also I didn’t want to deal with conflict...

I recently started going back to El Lugar since it was close to my Mom's new job and it was generally reasonable. I called in an order and when I looked at it. It was wrong. I called back and the lady who took the order spent so much time trying to prove she was right that we never really got to the point of could it be fixed or not. I generally spend between $15 - $ 35 every time I went in there and I know it's been at least 3 times a week for the last 3 months. I think I can give one of the FF chains my money. It must be hard to say that there was a miscommunication/misunderstanding, let us know if there is a price difference and offer to remake it. Since I guess they aren't hurting for customers to take basic customer service actions, Taco Bueno is around the corner and at least they will...
