Normally this place has awesome food and have never had any issues.. until tonight. Tried to place an order via phone for over 20 minutes. Started calling at 8:26 and nobody wanted to answer. It just kept ringing and ringing. I thought maybe with the storms/weather there was an issue with the phone. So I called back a few more times only for them to pick the phone up and SLAM IT BACK DOWN to hang up on me. So I thought, ok maybe that was an accident or maybe there is phone issues.. so I try one more time.. SAME THING.. picked the phone up and SLAMMED it back down to hang up on me AGAIN! Wow really? Since I was driving past the restaurant to go home, I decided to swing in on my way home.. I walked in (at 8:42) and said hi is it too late to order a cheese steak? And the person looked at the person behind the counter and rudely said âwe close at 9 so we stop taking orders at 8:30â. Okay I get that 150%, I understand everything you have to do to clean/close up a place like this.. so let me say this again.. I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE with not taking orders after 830.. HHOOOWWWWEVERRRR if you wouldâve answered the phone like a respectful place of business that I thought you were instead of ignoring and hanging up on me when I first started calling BEFORE 830â my order would have been placed plenty before your cutoff time! Thatâs...
Read moreAfter visiting my parents and grandparents graves we stopped at OIP for lunch being we had a 3 hour drive home.we entered the restaurant and I had my registered service dog with me and the gentleman immediately asked if he was a service animal which we replied that he was. The woman who waited on us was great and couldn't have been more attentive. The food was delicious but the gentleman kept looking towards us and I felt like the woman was stopping him from coming to our table for some reason. There was no one else there so something was bothering him about our visit. First max is a registered service dog. Second it is against the law to refuse service. We had just spent 150.00 dollars at gardener's candy, where my mother had worked and we wanted to eat locally. In the future I will be happy to eat elsewhere where we Have been before and max is welcomed regularly. I might suggest that as empty as the streets were and that there wasn't any customers in the restaurant you might want to keep the gentleman in the kitchen and away from the customers. My wife, my son and I all picked up the attitude from him. If it was that we weren't locals my family lived in tyrone from the late 1800s until 1980 .we now return to visit Graves 4 times a year. today was the most unwelcome I have felt...
Read moreMy family is a regular customer of OIP, but we havenât eaten inside in years due to a failure to update and refurnish aging booths. Lately, theyâve become very inconsistent with their food as well. We love their pizza and salads especially, but for the second time in a row they have forgotten the bread that goes with the salads. Considering they already charge an exorbitant amount for a salad that they donât even fill up the container, you would think theyâd remember the bread that goes with to satisfy patrons who desire the bread to actually fill them up.
Between the prices and inconsistency Iâm not sure if weâll ever be back besides the occasional pizza since it is the only pie in Tyrone that is of consistent quality.
If staffing is an issue, maybe try to create an easier menu to handle since the people up front canât manage to...
