Dottavio Italian House — Restaurant in Tyrone

Food is awesome! New manager and cooks..... Yeah.... Edit.... Food is no longer awesome... Old manager old cooks... My friend ordered a cheese steak n got an Italian combo. Old rancid tasting oil, no flavor other than that! The dog wouldn't even eat it! Got a replacement cheese steak. No flavor. Spices cost too much to use on these overpriced subs. 18.00 for what? Their rolls used to taste good. Now its like oil and air. No flavor at All. I have no idea how you eliminate every bit of flavor from food to that degree. It didn't even rate baloney sandwich level! You lost a customer that would have been back weekly and maybe more, because you're too cheap to season your food so it doesn't taste like something served in prison. Waste of money. Couldn't pay me to eat that. Sad part is, I grew up eating Paul's food all the time when it was Francisco's on the Diamond in Holidaysburg... That's where you want to go, he still puts cheese in his strombolis... Without counting the...

My wife and I were in the area to babysit our grandchildren. Google maps indicated that this was a decent restaurant in the Tyrone area so we ordered our lunch online. We've never eaten there before. I started driving to the restaurant and was nearly there when I got a phone message from my wife who told me that the restaurant had contacted her and said due to an emergency they had to cancel our order. Since I was already close to the restaurant I decided to drive by to get an indication of what the emergency might be. There were no ambulances or fire trucks anywhere near the property so the emergency must have been relatively mild. Perhaps there was a sick customer inside who required emergency attention. In any case we were extremely disappointed that this emergency just happened to occur on the very hour when we decided to try this restaurant out. I doubt that we will be ordering...

When it comes to the atmosphere here, D'Ottavios certainly does it right! I had a meatball sub and then later a 3 egg D'Ottavios Italian style omelette with wheat toast and a serving of home fries. Everything was excellent! I also had 2 Pepsis and a black coffee. The coffee was fine, smooth, and actually better than I expected!

Even though I am new to the area, the employees there were so welcoming and hard-working! I also thought that this Italian restaurant (which serves all day breakfast) was a really cool thing! I was also impressed with the wide array of different things you can order there!

I found the prices to be reasonable as well (even though I eat a lot). I think this restaurant will be one of my favorite places to hang out whenever I need a break from cooking at home. I will definitely be back...
