I specifically scouted out this sushi place to try their intestine noodle soup. A little off the beaten path and a stone's throw from the really busy hub of Tyson's Corner lies partially hidden what seems like a typical ramen and sushi joint whose front door is in the back side of a business building.
That's right - I'll state again in case you think you are having an aneurysm: "I went to a sushi place to try their intestine noodle soup!". And it was delicious, with a dozen intestine pieces in a super dense deep flavorful beef stock broth! And I'm somewhat ecstatic to say that this intestine noodle soup is probably THE BEST INTESTINE NOODLE SOUP I've had in this area compared to all other Chinese restaurants!!! Ordered the dry-fried cauliflower, intestine noodle soup, and tonkotsu ramen. It was all good! Didn't get to try the sushi as it seemed super post-inflation-expensive like every sushi place in DMV area. The staff spoke Mandarin Chinese and this was only discovered after our order was placed - maybe why the chinese noodle dishes are so good?!?
Finding diamond in the rough noodle entree in the wild is exactly what makes food journeys worth it. Just saying again - did I mention that this is the best intestine noodle soup compared to other local Chinese restaurants. Seriously, Yido is putting other Chinese noodle restaurants to shame with this intestine noodle soup. It really felt like eating at a sought-after street noodle vendor stall. What a find! I luv it and I plan to go back to...
Read moreIt’s OKAY. This spot is heavy on the Chinese flavors rather than Japanese menu. PROS: Services was friendly and attentive with the beverage refills and clearing the table. *I wouldn’t recommend sitting at the sushi bar during the winter because you’ll get a blast of frigid wind hitting you every time the entrance door opens/closes.
The curry tonkotsu ramen was good, not great, tasted more like I was eating a Chinese noodle soup with chewy ramen noodles rather than a Japanese dish. My friend had the Aburasoba (soupless ramen) and they said it was OK. Was very much like dandan noodles. The agedashi tofu comes with a Dipping sauce, so rather than combined, it’s separate. Tofu was cooked well, easy to eat. It was good. The hot tea is just a generic tea bag in hot water, I think the hot water refills are free. The spicy tuna nigiri was actually good. I think the sushi here is probably what keeps this place going.
The menu is practically full of Chinese dishes and is typed in Chinese, not Japanese. This isn’t a huge deal but I would’ve called this spot a Chinese Japanese fusion or something rather than claiming it’s a Japanese restaurant. Not the worst or bad by any means, just didn’t really hit the spot or anything memorable. Not a place you go to for authentic...
Read moreThis restaurant was amazing. We got a few different items and we liked all of them.
The takoyaki was good. It was very hot so be careful not to burn yourself. They melt in your mouth. The pork buns were also a really good texture and tasty.
I got the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and it was incredible. I asked them to make it extra spicy and they did. The texture of the noodles was perfectly chewy. The broth was very beefy, rich, and spicy. It also had some herbs in it that really complimented the flavor. The beef chunks were large but very tender and tasty. The portion of noodles was perfect, didn't run out of noodles fast. This dish would be perfect on a cold day.
We also had the Five Star roll which tasted really good.
The servers here were really friendly and attentive. The interior of the restaurant is decorated very nicely. There's a mural on the wall. There's flowers and lights it's all very cute and pretty.
This restaurant is located in an office building sorta, so you park in the designated reserved parking spots out front or in the garage. Then you follow the signs to the back where the entrance is.
Overall was very impressed by the price, flavor, and ambience. I'll...
