I ordered lunch online today at this Cava. My order was supposed to have been ready at 12:45. I was there at 12:45. The restaurant was very busy, so I waited patiently and quietly. Meanwhile, there were other customers next to me waiting. The employee that was managing the front kept asking people all around me what their names were so he could make sure that their orders were being taken care of. One lady who had been waiting, as I was, complained of her order not being ready. The manager explained to her that she got there early and that her order wasn't due to be ready until 1pm. But, he made sure the she got ALL 6 of her meals before my 2.
Other people came in after me and he did the same thing. I also noticed that the ladies working the online order station kept shifting the tickets around. It appeared that they were not filling them in order. They all saw me. They looked at me every time they filled an order ahead of mine. I waited almost 20 minutes until I was finally asked what my name was. But, it was obvious. It was at the end of the rush before they felt that I was important enough to help.
This is the 2nd time that this has happened to me with this same lunch crew. I feel like I was being discriminated against, which is really sad considering that the employees working there should know what that feels like. My money spends just as well as all of the people the got served before me.
I love your food. But probably will not visit this store again. Which is unfortunate since I often pick up lunch for the...
Read moreLove getting a generously loaded bowl of healthy deliciousness full to the brim! There are lots of options to choose from with the base (rice, lentils, greens), dips and spreads, hearty protein, toppings galore, and flavorful dressings. You really can't go wrong here and can easily double over for another meal. Quite a feat to conquer a bowl and glad mission accomplished!
My go-to DIY bowl: Flavorful Saffron ice, lentils, spinach, hummus, roasted eggplant, crispy falafel, shredded romaine, feta cheese, corn, tomato and cucumber salad, pickled onion (1/2 serving size), crunchy pita crisps topped with garlic.
What I skip: lemon herb tahini, roasted red pepper, and full serving size of pickled onions. The lemon herb tahini is quite subtle and the flavor gets lost with all the toppings while the spicy roasted red pepper is very bold and overpowers the bowl. There's always an abundance of pickled onions and request 1/2 the serving size.
This Cava location is a bit more compact and hard to social distance with other customers at my heels. The staff rushed through my order. I prefer ordering at the McLean location on Chain Bridge Road. This isn't the best grab and go location.
A redeeming factor of this location is the nice outdoor patio seating, which is quite rare at Cava. Would come back to enjoy a...
Read moreI loved this location up until a few days ago. I politely asked the woman preparing my bowl to put my greens on the side. She says “I can do it this time but next time I won’t do it.” So I ask her what the issue is. I’m not asking for anything extra, all I want is for the greens to go on the side. She continues to say “I’m just not allowed to.” So I ask her to let me speak with a manager because if it’s going to be an issue I’d really like to understand why. She says that she is the manager. So now I’m confused and I’m like okay? If you’re the manager then please explain the problem with such a simple request. She basically has no words and says “I don’t know if you want to talk to someone maybe you can send an email”. I will definitely be following up to get to the bottom of the problem because honestly something so simple didn’t need to be so difficult. Is it written in the cava rulebook somewhere that a customer can’t have things placed on the side?? Super frustrating and...
