I used to go here a lot, every day at one point, for affordable vegan options. Jennifer, who I believe is or was a manager, then became an owner, was always very nice and friendly. I went in today for the first time in a while, just to get some guac and chips. They weren't busy, nobody in line. I checked the prices first and noticed they seemed to have gone up quite a bit - okay, I know the price of everything has been going up - so I asked to confirm how much for guac and was shown 2 sizes. I figured the smaller one must be the $4.75 option and the larger was the now $8+ option - I pointed to and asked how much is the larger one (which still isn't very big), "$4.75." I asked again to confirm, "this one is $4.75?" "Yes." "Okay I'll take that." They get it ready and I go to pay and am told it's $8-something. I explained what had happened, and was basically told, "well do you want the (smaller) $4.75 one instead, or do you not want it". "No, I don't want that." I turned to leave, when the Manager, "Mary" got involved, talking initially with the girl at the register.
Mary, like the girl at the register, acted incredulous, looking at me like I was the craziest person they'd ever seen (odd if you've seen a lot of the people around here) when I asked if they were willing to provide decent customer service and honor the price I was repeatedly given. I gave her one more chance, repeating what had happened yet again, expecting maybe she would go check with the other employee who had made the original mistake, but Mary couldn't be bothered. Not even an "I'm sorry", just, "No."
It's not the extra few dollars that's the issue so much as the terrible, inexcusably bad customer service, despite me giving them many opportunities to make it right. And even if they didn't want to honor that price they could have at the very least apologized for their mistake. I was frustrated by the whole experience and left empty-handed.
I'm not sure why any business would choose to turn away a long time regular customer over a few dollars caused by their own mistake, but I guess this is where we are at this point in late stage capitalism.
It was nice to have this place as an option when short on time and energy but I can make my own, better guac for about a third of the price. I won't be returning...
Read moreI stopped by there today around 2:45, I liked the concept and the food a lot when introduced in the bay area, was so excited when they opened here, then... First visit the serving size seemed smaller than what I had had at the other stores, but it was new so I let it go, I guess I had gotten food there about 4 or 5 times since that first visit and it was acceptable, then I went in today to get 2 bowls, one for my grandson who had never had it and one for me, of course with all the trimins. There was one guy in line in front of me, just started his order, by the time he was checking out, right about the time I walked out, I had been there at least 10 min, during which there were 3 guys in the kitchen area, not doing anything I could see, one put on gloves and walked to the counter but just dipped veggies into a cup for the 4th guy who was waiting on the guy, so 4 men behind the counter, 2 of which were just screwing around in the back of the kitchen, and not one of them acknowledged my presence, on top of this the food looked old and dried out, and during the whole 10 min or more not one of these folks so much as made eye contact or even looked in my direction, there is absolutely no question why this restaurant isn't doing well, I'll introduce my grandson at the Santa Rosa store and probably won't be back at the Ukiah store.
This makes me sad because I really do like the food and I'm not in SR very often these days, keep it fresh and do a little customer service and I...
Read moreI showed up about 9pm no line at all. Elizabeth was making a giant quesadilla for herself or her and her co worker Salem it seems. I proceded to wait without a line almost 8 minutes while Elizabeth shoveled 5 scoop spoon fulls of chicken spread out evenly and perfectly on her tortilla then cover in a huge amount of cheese and placed on the toaster at which time Salem the cashier told Elizabeth she would watch the giant meal on the toaster while she took my order. Finally Elizabeth took my order. When I told her I wanted chicken and steak she proceeded to inform me that would cost up to $4 extra, although she didnt know the exact cost, after I asked her how much extra she had no idea the actual amount. When it came time to pay I asked why did I need to wait so long to order? Salem infomed me they were making a quesadilla for an employee in the back. When I said I should report there unprofessional behavior to the corporate office she didnt give a care and told me there corporate office is in Sacramento. I guess the huge free quesadilla with 5 scoops of meat are much more important than paying customers. Way to go Chipotle ruining my favorite place with the clowns you hired in Ukiah Ca. Also no name tags? And thats policy? Okay? This was a very demeaning insulting experience. Felt like I was intruding on there personal time and space rather than being a valued customer. This was a very demeaning insulting experience. Sorry to bother you and your employees at Chipotle...
