We're invited to come out to hang here for lunch on Sunday by our family who had been scoping out the spot for a couple weeks for a Sunday experience. But had never been able to get in because the place had been packed so much. Sunday was also busy but not as much likely because the kitchen is not open on Sunday which means they only have beer and drink available. It seems one of the attractions is the atmosphere which is open space seating outdoors with plenty of cover for you to get mostly out of the sun. The table area is relatively sized and has additional seating with umbrella cover in the rear back. You would not think that a place like this would have that kind of space available for seating because the building for the establishment itself is relatively small. This appears to be a brewery owned and operated by Filipinos. Which makes a lot of sense because this is after all, Union City. One of the great Filipino congregation Havens. I would also say that the vast majority of the patrons themselves were Filipinos as well. Upon entering, there was a decently good list of beers available for order. Seem to be a mix of their own brew plus beer from other commercial microbreweries as well. My eye instantly was caught by the calamansi pilsner, which I felt was what I had to have because calamansi for me, is a well-known Filipino fruit or citrus which I often use in the place of lemon when I don't have any lemons available and it does the job quite well. Unfortunately, I don't think this combination works for me. I'm glad I had it, but I don't think I'll have it again. I did not get a chance to try any of the other beers but the environment along with the outdoor music and the good weather and good company means I will likely come back to hang in the space and to try another one of their beer offerings in the future. I would however, recommend that you come on a day where their kitchen is open. Although I don't know how good the food will be, I would eventually like to try it because the photographs I've seen of the selection look intriguing. That, and the food truck that stood in on Sundays for the beer garden did not satisfy my palate, and good beer should be paired...
Read morewow i really enjoy this space! not only was the food incredible but the vibes in the outdoor seating area along with drink selections are immaculate! 10/10 would recommend for yall to stop by and try their menu items! as the weather is slowly getting warmer I'm so juice to stop by again because imagining the summer breeze along with the cotton candy sky sounds like such a fun experience!
the staff there are also so approachable and friendly - because as for drinks i got a sour of some sort (to be honest - i wasn't too sure what to order so i asked the bartender for his recommendations in which he was so helpful and allowed me to taste test prior to buying the drink!) the only downside is that parking may be hard to find on the streets but there are tons of side streets nearby
perfect for groups, friends and family, and dates!! 10/10 would recommend trying their garlic shrimp plate ($19) - which was so flavorful and everything within my plate was paired so...
Read moreWe love coming out to Birdhaus! Their ube beer is delicious without being annoyingly sweet, like many ube treats can be. And the crab fries are RIDICULOUSLY overflowing with imitation crab, roe, green onions, and spicy mayo. EAT THEM UP.

Enjoyed checking out Union City's Birdhaus Beer Garden and The Lone Crow today in Union City! These companion businesses bring Filipino and Hawaiian flavors to a chill, sunny outdoor gathering spot.
Did I mention the halo halo ube tres leches cake? It's a collaboration with Macs By Icky and was a super sweet and delicious dinner to the afternoon. Earlier came a guava mint mojito, pilsners, hazy ipas, spicy poke, and a mochiko chicken bowl.
Will be back on another sunny day. Wish they carried more of their own brews, though! And fewer IPAs...but I always...
