I went to this place with a friend for the first and last time, they greeted me at the entrance and assigned me a table, my friend took a while to arrive, we ordered our food and she was drinking a margarita and beer, they were desperate to take the table from us, we ordered the 2-pound bag for 100 dollars and some fries and since it was quite a lot of food we took a brief pause, it should be noted that she was still drinking alcohol, they offered us dessert and we said no for now, maybe in the end, because we still had food there, they took away our menus, gave us the bill and wanted to pack up our food, a few minutes later, the manager asked us to move to the bar and continue our conversation there because they had reserved those tables for a party, we found it very rude because we were the only people who had their table taken away and we were still eating, we moved with great embarrassment and stayed there for a while, I put my card to pay, and the manager charged us quickly, after a while, we realized that the table was not occupied, they had removed it from us and no one had used it, which bothered us even more. Finally, we got up to leave, when the waiter quickly comes behind us and in a not very pleasant tone asks in a very loud voice if we have not paid, to which we answer yes, the entire restaurant was looking at us since he insinuated that we were leaving without paying, he asked who charge us and I looked for the person's face but we couldn't see it, the waiter began to ask every single of the employees if we had paid them and they answered no, and we couldn't leave, until finally an employee of the bar mentioned that he saw that we paid, until then we could leave, it is important to mentioned that we are Latinas and the whole time we were speaking in Spanish between us, therefore, we are sure that the actions they had towards us we perceived as discrimination, we even went back to speak with the manager, and she only told us that it had been a misunderstanding, that it had been a lack of communication and when we told her that we had been discriminated against, she only said that it was not like that and that she was sorry. It is clear that I will NEVER return to this place, because we were the only people who were...
Read moreI came here about two weeks ago. We were sat promptly what I thought was the manager at the time. After sitting down not even one minute has passed and this worker passes by us and says, " So you guys sits yourself or what?" I mean I'm not a customer specialist or anything but this guy was extremely rude and should know that his dad doesn't own this restaurant for mouthing off like that.
Anyways we ordered the shrimp, sweet potato fries and steamed rice. Shrimp came out hot and saucy, sweet potato fries looked burned was actually well cooked. The rice was really moist and steamy. Everything was actually good and the manager turned out to be the owner and explained that it is under new management and i expressed to him how much better the food was compared to the old management. He made sure his employees were doing a good job and they were. At this point I am thinking this is a solid 4/5 star restaurant except for rude boy.
Now fast forward two weeks and I come in again thinking i'm going to have a great dinner experience again and boy was I wrong. First of all I'm not sure if they are trying to freeze the tables or what but it was COLD like Sub zero COLD. We were again sat down promptly but the owner was not present. So servers comes and I order the same order and add chicken tenders this time around. Now one thing i notice is there is constant chattering by the employees which makes it really difficult to even hear my own conversation. It's like they never saw each other for years and are having a reunion.
Anyways food comes out and I notice several things. First off, the shrimp is dry as there is not sauce so I have to ask for more (REALLY?), the rice is already cold. The kicker is the server even though she is sweet does not come back and check on us so I have to wave her down. While I'm waiting for the sauce, all the food is being refrigerated by the AC.
Overall I'll have to knock it down two stars just for those issues. If the owner is here , you will have a great dining experience which makes the restaurant a solid 4 star but if not, then just don't come or you'll be staying in sub zero's lair with high school reunion in...
Read moreThe first clue we weren't going to have a good experience was the greeting we didn't receive when we walked in the front door. My dad was in a wheelchair and the front entrance was crowded with chairs and a table. He was barely able to fit through only after moving a chair. We got seated and the waitress took our order. After returning with our food, she asked if we needed anything else, I asked for lemon slices. The waitress never returned with them and pretty much avoided our table. Never returned to check on us. Not even eye contact for us to flag her down. We just finished eating and was able to flag her down to ask for a to go bag and the check. Even then, I had to walk the church up to the rear counter to pay since she was busy chatting with the other employees. That's my complaint on the service.
We ordered 2lbs of shrimp and a pound of snow crab legs, steamed rice and garlic noodles. The shrimp and crab were barely edible and seemed like they were on the verge of being spoiled. The shrimp meat was very difficult to separate from the shell. It was almost sticky like. Same as the crab meat. It wasn't just me that noticed. My dad and brother made the same comments. The white rice was also undercooked. It almost felt like I was eating oatmeal. The garlic noodles were the best. No complaints.
Overall, I would never return to this place to give it a second chance. Worst dining experience ever. I hate leaving bad reviews unless it's something that really got me upset. This is one of them. I spent over $100 here. I'm writing this review the day after I visited. Just in case I got sick, I would've documented it in...
