Higher Ground Coffee Company — Restaurant in Union City

L.O.V.E. Higher Ground Coffee and the staff! Our family are frequent visitors! They are extremely friendly, whether inside or drive thru. Inside is always clean, beautifully decorated, great atmosphere!

I came in a week or so ago to have a day date with my oldest son. He got a smoothie he thought he'd like, took a sip and didn't like it. I took it back to the counter when my coffee was made and mentioned it to ( I hate that I forgot her name) the lady behind the counter. She took it from me and suggested some other flavors. My son finally settled on a new one and she remade it. I went to the register to pay and she insisted that it was on her! I insisted, she said no again however I slipped the cash for it into the tip jar! Lol! It wasn't her fault that my son didn't personally like the taste first one (it was Mango) and she, nor the store, should have to eat that cost!

I would give this place more stars if I could!

My favorite part is that I'm able to get Fraps here! However, I do not believe you can get breakfast sandwiches here. That would make this place perfect if they ever...

This is my favorite place to be in Union City and has been my go-to happy place every week for many years now.

Every server has been warm, friendly, and helpful, giving recommendations or free corrected drinks while staying quick and professional.

After having tried almost all they have to offer, I can confidently say every single drink and snack exceeds my expectations. There's a taste for every preference!

They genuinely care for their customers, such as when we contacted them saying my autistic self has sensory issues with the slamming door, and they promptly fixed it to close with a gentle glide, now.

I've studied or read here for hours at a time, listening to their awesome playlists or enjoying one of the amazingly creative monthly specials (that you can ask for year round by the way--just say the name of it! The Churro Latte is my personal favorite). They support local artists, keep the place clean and cozy, and deserve all the success in the world.

Was excited to try this coffee shop as i’m new to the area— glad i wasn’t in a hurry is my first point i’m going to make. All i ordered was a ham panini. After about 15 minutes of waiting I went back up to the counter to check on it. The girls proceeded to go into the back and talk for a minute or two. My guess is they didn’t even start it until I just came and said something. Another came out and said “it’s gonna be about 20 minutes” i then said another 20 minutes? as i had already basically waited that. All she responded with was “yeah” not a yeah i’m so sorry about that. As someone who works in the retail world and interacts with people on the daily i guess this isn’t how i would have handled the situation. Wasn’t looking to get anything for free- but maybe just a sorry we have a new person things got messed up. they just didn’t seem to care about the fact that i waited 40 minutes for 1 sandwich and that was it. If the employees would have handled the situation I wouldn’t have really cared all that much. Overall leaving very annoyed & with a sandwich that has barely melted...
