This is one of the best “fast food” chains offering Hawaiian BBQ on the mainland. There are quite a few in the area, but this is my favorite and is the only one I know that is actually rooted in Hawaii.
The Kal Bi, BBQ chicken and Kalua pork plate lunches are my favorite. They also have lau lau, saimin, musubi (SPAM, Portuguese sausage and other variants), loco moco, and other island favorites along with actual Hawaiian canned drinks, which you normally can only find in Hawaii.

Read moreI made an order for pickup for the bbq mix plate and it was missing the short ribs and half of the beef parts and was mostly chicken chopped into weird cuts and they tied the bag so I wouldn’t see it when I arrived. Make sure you check the plate before buying and leaving their restaurant. This is the third time they did this. I thought it couldn’t happen a third time boy was I wrong. Sheesh. And their restrooms omg you must go check that out to holy crap. If they’re not putting enough effort into cleaning their restrooms they must not give a care in the world on how they prepare our orders neither. Seriously go look....

I went in here to get a snack. The spam musubi was just $3, so I bought it. I also needed to go to the bathroom. On my way there, I saw a ripped cushion, graffiti, and some garbage on the floor. The bathroom wasn't in much better condition. I returned to the counter just as my order was ready. The spam musubi was wrapped all the way in seaweed, instead of only in the middle which is more common in my experience. The spam wasn't crispy, but it sufficed. It laid on some sauce which was on some rice.
