Mr. Green Bubble | Union City — Restaurant in Union City

Hello Everyone, during Covid, if you ask me where do you get the popcorn chicken, Mr. Green Bubble is definitely one of the recommend from my list. Crispy and Juicy, and actually a lot of meat for $7~8. at least my friends love to order the traditional Taiwanese snack such as popcorn chicken, or the bento box with a milk tea. however, no sitting place during covid time, so my friend does to-go all the time.

Today, my friends were visiting in town and suggest we should meet here, and surprisingly the sitting area is open. we order a Jasmin green tea with oat milk, milk tea, and Oreo puff egg waffle (note- I love puff egg, they are basically a sweeter version of the pancake) basically, 2 drink tastes like "water" period. well, it's partly my fault as I order 0% sugar and 0% ice, to reveal the tea favor. I guess you will find sugar water if you order it with 50% and up. another surprise is Oreo egg puff does not taste like any Oreo inside, but I do see the little signature Oreo dot mixed into the batch, maybe 1%?

lastly, I ask a guy and a lady in the front and see if I can use the bathroom after finishing the new favor water tea. they give me a robotic look and say they can't. I decide to stand there for 15 more seconds, and ask if there is other restaurant that I can use. they told me to go to wing stop the next-door, and they are not the same company. why will they recommend me to go use someone else's bathroom?

this place still deserve a 2 stars because they are still credited for the stuff they do right. if you decide to grab a quick popcorn chicken or bento to-go, their food still live up to their reputation. if you decide to come here for full water favor tea and bladder explosion, look no further.

Visited here for take out lunch at 12pm. I placed my order via the screens on the store which was pretty easy & straight forward. I ordered 2 popcorn chicken bentos (no spicy & level 5) with addition of 1 taro milk tea (no sugar, no ice, add mango jelly). The ordering was great as I customized the spicy level for the popcorn chicken & the sweetness and ice level for the drink. However, they set the tips at 15% even for take out (not that I don't want to tip them but I think the customer should have the choice to give whatever percentage they'd like). I put in my phone number & got text when my order was ready.

The portion for popcorn chicken bento was good with the price given. Beware that the level 5 spicy was super spicy, but I like it. The chicken pieces were crispy and they gave generous amount. The bento also came with white rice, a veggie roll and a side of green salad with ranch sauce. The taro milk tea was just ok. I ordered for no sugar but it was still too sweet for my liking. Maybe because the boba itself was already sweet.

06/02/2020 Placed an online order thru ordering. Paid online and found out the store is close without any notice or sign on the door(one note says close 6pm?) When I went to pick up my order at the scheduled time. No notice email, no refund. May you refund me please? Wondering why don’t you leave a note on the online order app that you are close today?
