D Rivera Deli & Catering — Restaurant in Union

Let me start off by saying, this location and deli has a history. I lived in this town for over 30 years. Hank and julie spada ran this establishment for over 20 Years in union nj, because of dedication and hard work and a true passion for what they did..They also had mike spada, the son, bill tracy, dan tracy, and ray work here..The good old days, I remember so well..lol.. The cheesesteaks with gravy and onions were the best around town! The last owners who took over and were taught by hank.R.I.P.🙏 and renamed it heavenly subs, unfortunately didn't last long. I wish them all the best. The new owners seem to be on point!👍and the 2 times I was there made me the identical classic cheesesteak that made SPADA'S famous for! D Rivera deli, I truly hope will be the last to keep this location and classic sub shop formally known as, SPADA'S around for years to come..🙏 I wish D rivera all the best success in this town,...

In addition to the regular or special request for a sandwich, the service is exemplary. Recently I had an evening fishing trip and ordered at noon a large sub but asked that half be wrapped for lunch and half be separated so I could put that half in my cooler. The latter half was not only wrapped in paper but double wrapped in plastic wrap so the sandwich would not get wet in a cooler! And the seasoned oil/vinegar placed in a sealed cup to be added later. Look at the meats and sides in the refrigerator and you recognize...
