MK 463 Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Irvington

I don’t usually like leaving reviews (too time consuming), but my experience was disappointing enough that I felt the need to share.

I ordered the Taso Fritaille and Macaroni au Gratin, expecting a flavorful, well-prepared meal. Instead, the macaroni tasted like it had been sitting for DAYSSS and was simply reheated before serving. Honestly, I’m not even being dramatic…I really make a genuine effort to provide thoughtful, and well-articulated reviews as a form of constructive criticism.

To continue… the taso and plantains were fried in old oil, leaving them with this unpleasant taste and dark texture.

Furthermore, when I arrived, there was no one at the front, and I had to knock on the kitchen door to get someone’s attention. While the lady was friendly when she came out of the kitchen, it simply doesn’t make sense that the same person MAKING the food is also the same person TAKING orders.

As a Haitian, I absolutely LOVE my people’s cuisine and want to see our restaurants thrive, however, the food quality and service matter just as much as having a nice space. $45 wasted! This place has potential, but please hire more people, change the oil more frequently and maybe make the macaroni in smaller portions DAILY.

My party of 4 arrived to this establishment around 10:30 on a Friday night. We waited at the entrance for 10 minutes before we recognized some friends and we spoke to them and told them no one greeted us. So our friends went and got someone and told them we weren’t greeted or seated. Which was crazy because the establishment was not busy. Then it took awhile before they seated us. If it wasn’t for our friends who know how much longer we would have waited. Now when we tried to order they were out of a lot of things on the menu. So our choices were limited. We finally ordered fritalle. 20 minutes after we ordered they come and tell us they don’t have any Akra. What is a fritalle without akra. At this point we had no choice but to keep our order. The food took forever to come out. Also one person in my party had told the waitress she wasn’t ready to place her order and the waitress said she would come back to her. She finally came to her when our food came out, at that point my friend didn’t want anything anymore. This was a horrible first experience at this establishment. We explained our frustration to the manager and he didn’t do anything to make the experience better, so therefore I will not be...

I would give zero stars if I could. I walked into this beautiful empty establishment of Friday night. The hostess was sitting down on her phone when we walked in. When she finally realized we were waiting she didn’t even greet us but looked confused on how can she help us like what are you doing here? Before she could even ask us what we wanted the phone rang, she didn’t even tell us to give her a min nor seat us before answering the phone. She just left us right where we were standing so we politely walked out and decided to eat somewhere else. You would think since the place is empty we would be her first priority I guess not. Businesses fail not because of the food it’s the service.
