I drove passed and the atmosphere & nostalgia immediately caught my eyes! I decided to stop by since I’ve never been in the area before, imma foodie so an Old Fashioned Hot Dog sounded good at the moment. Figured I try it out. As soon as I walked in I knew I came into the right place, even the look of the old time menu bought back memories. I asked the woman at the register what does she recommend since I’ve never been there before. First thing she says is ā€œNothing…I mean, I wouldn’t know, I don’t eat that stuffā€ 🫤 I said to myself OooohK! Usually the first point of contact will dictate how the rest of your experience will be, so if I had THAT to go by, I should’ve stuck to my Right Mind, turn around, and Left! But I told myself to tough it out, everyone here can’t be as bad as she wasā€¦šŸ˜‘ She then calls PETE to assist me since she said he’s been at the Establishment since it opened. I proceeded to ask him the same thing, he kindly showed me the menu After verbally telling me all that they had to offer, which I appreciated. I decided on a Hot Dog w/ Mustard, Sauerkraut, & Onions (a NY thing) , some cheese fries, and a small Pepsi. He put in my order, told me the price (we even had a brief discussion about the Tap To Pay option, although he never mentioned to me that the Cash Price was cheaper than the Card Price-found that out later when I returned after overhearing a transaction). He asked my name and said he’d call me once it was ready. Few minutes later I got my food, so excited to try it and I was hungry. Opened the aluminum foil to reveal the hot dog. Subpar to say the least but I said maybe it doesn’t taste as bad as it looks. I was wrong. The fries were crispy as per my request, barely edible though. At this point, I ate because I was hungry! Finished my food, went across the way to get Gas. As soon as I made it, I received a notification from my Bank stating that there was a Pending Transaction in the amount of $16.84. I was Livid but I calmly returned back since I was still in the area. Asked for Pete because of course he was nowhere to be found (I say that because 2 other workers were looking for him). He FINALLY resurfaced from wherever he was hiding. And I asked him to pull up the transaction, however one of the other workers physically did it while Pete was still standing there. He gave me what he called an Itemized Receipt (along with the original receipt I already had from the transaction). I then showed him what my bank sent me and we both agreed to wait until it settles since it’s still pending. I left satisfied although I could see the Angst in Petes eyes as if he knew he was caught… Fast Forward to this morning, I received a notification from my Bank statingā€ Your Charges Were Updated To Include A Tip That The Merchant Added, Your New Charges Have Settled With The Total That Was Pendingā€. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Sooooo Ol Pete gave himself a 7.69 Tip on my behalf ehh!! It’s funny how Specific that amount is though. If I actually would’ve tipped, it would’ve been a rounded to the nearest dollar amount. I hate to assume but it seems as if either Pete’s been skimming off the top or bought somebody food on my dime! Either way, who knows how long this has been going on?! Just because he’s the veteran employee, no one would suspect Ol Pete right?! WRONG! I have! So if you decide to visit make sure you use CASH ONLY or ā€œ0ā€ out the tip line AND INITIAL IT, if you Don’t intend on leaving a tip and write the amount on the Total Line!!! Never Again will I visit. I wasn’t going to anyways cuz the food is 🚮

For geographic purposes, Galloping Hill Inn has most certainly one of the most unique locations around. It can be found at a locale known locally as Five Points, a place where five roads (and nearly a sixth) all converge. If you're there, you can't miss this place's edifice, as it is an eyecatcher; you can spot it immediately. Very prominent in the rear is a sizable pavilion where patrons can enjoy their meals outdoors in warm weather. Inside, Galloping Hill Inn is not just a one, but a two part establishment. There is the food stand present, but there also is a mini bar with social quarters able to accommodate, I'd guess about a hundred. It also has a shelving with baked goods as well. My visit today was for a dog all the way and a few other things. While the dog was great tasting and had a great snap, I had to wind up limiting my purchase due to one disconcerting aspect of the menu board. (This is also the sole reason why I took one star off what should have been a 5 star review and knocked it down to 4 stars). Take a look at the photos I've posted and take notice of an extremely glaring item that the menu board is devoid of: NO PRICES LISTED! THAT IS AN ALARM BELL SETOFF. How is a patron to know how much each item is? Ask? That's time consuming and inconvenient. Having been burned by other food establishments, I have developed a distrust of places engaged in this practice, and the only thing that saved this place was that I just happened to notice a small laminated menu which happened to be just lying there in the corner of the counter. Otherwise, I would have turned around, walked out, and given a much worse review than here. So, for all the greatness and popularity of your business, do yourselves a huge favor. POST YOUR PRICES! It's a simple request. You can have a great product, great service, great atmosphere, but if there's no openness and transparency, it severely detracts from everything else, and all the good things you do.

A man in a Mets hat asks us to place our order. My friends and I ordered at the counter and waited in a quick moving line of people who looked excited to be there. I ordered a burger, fries, the guy encouraged me to get the waffle fries. The guy behind the counter was all about encouraging you to make the best order choices. I later ordered a shake, and the man yelled "vanilla or chocolate?" in his wonderfully stern New Jersey accent. I went with chocolate, greatest decision. Initial Reactions & Ratings: Bacon Burger: "Incredible" Rating: MM Chocolate Shake: "mmmmm" Rating: MMMMM Waffle Fries: "WOW perfect" Rating: MM Customer Service: Absolutely perfect. Felt like home. Atmosphere: The perfect Jersey grit. Photography worthy. Aesthetic and colors brought me joy. Old time Americana. ---------------------------------------- My Initial Reaction Rating Scale M: (strong love reaction) MM: (It's good, but It's not forcing me to verbally react to it) MMM: (Dancing and nodding my head in agreement to how great this food is) MMMM: ("mmmmmm" undeniably unbelievable and sensationally hitting all the spots) MMMMM: (I'm so emotionally attached to this meal, I will think about it forever and I may shed tears while I eat it.)

I went this place to celebrate the birthday party of my friend son. I was there at 2:30 pm due to marathon i was late. When i reach event place , there was no food. I was so amaze how they remove the food without letting the people know who literally paid for it. I think in a event like this, people are paying for food , place and services, Place was good but the service was terrible and the food , i cant even eat so how can i review it. I would never ever recommended anyone to book this place. After seeing my friend having a hard time to even to talk to the worker. My friend was doing back and forth on his sons birthday party , he cant even enjoy his son party, people book event so that they can have good memories but instead of being happy he have to be embarrassed in front the guest. Who would recommend this place. when i went there, there was barely 50-60 people and my friend paid for 100 people and almost half of them couldn't get the food, have to leave the place without eating food. Just imagine from your party, šŸ˜’ My friend was trying get food from them , bystander guest saw them taking food from the event and it wasn't even finished. The staff was trying buy time and when the manager shown up to help it was already 3:30 pm , our event was suppose to finish at 4pm. After manager talk to the staff, it was 4pm, and they said they cant ...
