Called order ahead on 3/16/19 was told 17 mins arrived got 3 drinks out of fridge walked to counter was not greeted by anyone even though owner and waitress were both at counter. Owner moved to another side of counter at which point I realized register location (2nd time here) noticed cash only sign so I did out loud didn’t realize u guys are cash only no one responded waited patiently as owner did cash drop and disappeared for 4-5 min no one asked me if I needed help at this point 6-7 min in establishment shortly after another customer comes in and prep guy comes to register and says “how can I help you “ to customer behind me, who then places his order and prep guy starts that order and leaves counter. I then mention to gentleman that it bad service/inconsiderate to look over a customer who has been standing at the counter for 7/8 mins and take the order of a customer 4/5 feet behind me when I’m at the counter 2 ft in front of you. At this point the owner comes in and say” he can’t speak English , don’t talk to him talk to me”. I explained to him what occurred to which he responded “well that was 8 mins ago let’s talk about now ,what is your order “ I then stated that shouldn’t be his approach can I finish my statement to which he responded he “has no time for this or that and let’s get my order out”. Blown away as I was I stared at him trying to keep my cool and maintain my sense cause I’ve never been to any of the local business in town and treated this way. Once again I reiterated my views and he stated again he’s “not interested in hearing them, this is HIS HOUSE HIS RULES get to the order or go”. his demeanor was so appalling. The owner is a not a nice business man and he doesn’t deserve any more of my hard earned money , I reached out to some friends that referred me there and they stated they stopped going there due to his attitude and customer service skills. Another friend called him Racist. While I haven’t had enough interaction to confirm the racist part I can see why some ppl May think so. What I do know is I WILL NOT BE SPENDING ANYMORE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY @ JOES PIZZA. Pizza is greasy and oily I can live with that! What I can’t live with is his horrible attitude and poor ppl skills. No hatred just won’t be going back ever again. Read moreI went here for a meatball sub because it was close to work and someone suggested it. The place looks nice even if the decor is a little dated. The staff came across as unfriendly, at least to me. The gentleman behind the counter barely acknowledged me and didn't say a word to me (even when taking my order) until my order was up. Even then, he just mumbled "meatball parm" in my general direction. It almost seemed like they were annoyed I was there. The rest of the staff seemed indifferent to me, even when it was obvious I wanted to order something. I'm willing to accept that I may have misinterpreted the whole thing, there was another patron there who was likely a regular that the same gentlemen engaged with quite nicely. So maybe it's just me. But the service was only a small part of my rating.
Instead of a typical meatball parm on a hoagy roll, I got what appeared to be half of a round loaf of bread stuffed with meatballs and cheese. I like the idea of a different type of meatball parm sandwich, so I was cool with it. But there was so much bread, I couldn't tell you if the meatballs were good or not. And howdo you eat this weirdness? The meatballs were literally coming out the back end of the sandwich. I got sauce on my shirt thanks to this terrible design.
I'll go back to try the pizza, but if that disappoints as much as the meatball parm...and the less than cordial service, then I will update my review with...
Read morePizza is ok from what I recall. Had an incident back in 2015 though. Their Delivery Driver tried to rob me. I was at the Hobby spot with some friends, we ordered two pies. Recommendation coming from the Hobby shop itself. I wanted to tip the driver and expected change for the several bills I gave him. Verbally confirmed my expectation of his return. He never came back, he drove back to base.
Normally, not a big deal. I understand, maybe you see some dark skin and want to confirm that you'll be getting a tip. Not at my expense though. Called them back, the lady on the phone couldn't account for where the driver was. She was also less than cooperative about my missing money.
I gave them a visit, personally. I went to discuss it at the counter with congeniality but the Driver poked his head from the back and wanted to make a loud confrontation of it.
I stood my ground louder.
The owner felt it necessary to part with the difference I was owed when it came to the disruption of his business, so perhaps that is a selling point for you as a customer. With that said, your...
