Cool Runnings Cuisine — Restaurant in Union

This was by far one of the most disappointing experiences with oxtails ever. The other day I ordered Cool Runnings Cuisine for dinner. I ordered their Large Oxtail Dinner w/ Collard Greens, Cabbage, & Plantain. With Mac n Cheese as the side, and Peanut Punch to wash it down. First off you can count how many pieces of oxtail is in the platter. Maybe 5-6. For a large dinner platter one would at the very least expect more oxtails than that. The oxtails were on the dry side and had no flavor at all. The gravy it was in also had no flavor. They were also very stiff. The collard greens were impossibly bland and extremely grainy. The cabbage was pretty good, no complaints. Loved the different blend of veggies in the cabbage. The only real saving grace for this order was the Mac n Cheese. Not that it was the best, would say about 5/10, but it at least had flavor! You can taste the cheeses and it had a nice texture to it. If not for the Mac, my score would be a lot lower. And for the grand total of $39 for my entire meal, it was not worth it in any way, shape, or form. Maybe their other dishes are good, but I for sure will not be trying them. I live in Queens NY and went to Union NJ with my family to visit my aunt who live around the corner from this restaurant......Tower Street to be exact.This was on 6/8/24. On leaving her house we decided to get some food. We're Jamaicans so we felt for Jamaican food. I went I to the restaurant with my son and ordered 2 veggie patties, 2 small curried chicken with rice Peas and steam vegetables and 2 bottles of tropical rhythm. After receiving the food because it was for takeout, I decided to look in the bag at what I'd received and people! Mi nah tell no lie! 2 pieces of chicken in each container of food.....1,2 and the chicken is chopped up so it's not whole pieces like a leg or thigh.....,it would be like the thigh chopped into 3 pieces and I get 2 out of the 3. I asked the lady who served the food if this is how it's served with 2 pieces of chicken to which she replied yes and she was just doing her job. I went into this restaurant and was met with nothing but attitude from a light-skinned heavyset elderly black woman. She slammed my food and change, and banged on the counter repeatedly to get my attention instead of a simple "excuse me." Which she did not even need to do because I was in front of the counter deciding which cake I wanted to add to my order! Be patient! I was the only customer in there!

I've supported this business so much myself over the years and even had family and friends try it. To have brought 100's of dollars to this business and be met with disrespect was disheartening as I would never patron here again.

When I used to UberEats from here, I'd even add to the notes to put my cake in a separate plastic bag so it did not melt.
