I am from out of town, and was taken here by a childhood friend for a good time before my flight home. The bartender said he didnt want to make a lemon drop, because the limoncello was cheap, and had an aftertaste. We decided on an apple martini, and strawberry margarita, which were both delightful. Our drinks were followed by soup. We decided the soup was good, so we would order more. We then ordered a salad and mussels. They took around 20 mins to come out. We started to eat as soon as it was recieved. My mussels were cold. We waited around 7 minutes for the barteneder to return and check on us. We advised that the food was cold, and because i was leaving for a flight, that we didnt want them to simply reheat the mussels. Jay came out and said “Donna says she will put them in a bag for you to take home, but you have to take them and they are not coming off of your bill.” We stated that I wasnt taking them on a flight, and my friend was allergic to shellfish. Donna then came out, crossed her legs, and leaned onto my jacket and chair. She stated “ I was informed that you left your mussels here for a while, and when you went to eat them cold.” We advised that wasnt correct, and that we informed him the moment he finally came to check on us. She said well thats not my fault and started talking over us while still asking us to answer questions about our meal. I asked her how would i assist her with answering her questions if she was to continue shouting over me, and she could simply check the cameras to see when the food was brought out, and that I immediately ate it. She then decided to tell the entire bar to take the food off of the bill. I explained that $19 mussels weren’t the problem, that the service and her attitude was. Her accusations off of heresay, instead of simply sharing the proof and trying to embarrass me in a restaurant was absolutely uncalled for. “ Call and report me and make sure you tell them it was Donna” was her response. Other patrons told us they’ve had the same issue with Donna, and apologized for her behaviors. The bartender was ok but the way the manager of the establishment handled such a simple task was unacceptable. It was easy for her to shout and remove the cold meal that was brought to me after I mentioned the cameras, but neither apologized or assisted when i was brought cold shellfish. Would recommend she be retrained, and exposed to different means of “...
Read moreOn Saturday, May 22, 2021, my friends and I had dinner reservations at this restaurant. We sat outside because one the weather was delightful and two COVID is still here although we’re moving towards a better outcome then before.
Getting back to our dinner. We ordered our food, it was delivered to us late but we didn’t mind because we had great conversation while waiting. One of my friends ordered Filet Mign Barolo she requested it cooked “well done”. Needless to say it wasn’t cooked to her liking at all when it arrived. We politely sent it back.
Meanwhile, my other friend and I shared our dinner with our friend while her food was being recooked. When she did receive her order, we waited for her to enjoy her meal. Shortly, thereafter, the waitress came to our table and started removing our plates and asked my friend who just received her meal if she was done. We looked at the waitress with concern and confusion because the food before her was noticeably piping hot; how in the world could she be done?
We asked the waitress why was she rushing us? She pretended to act like she didn’t understand the question and walked away.
We noticed that a Caucasian couple who sat across from us who also received their food late and expressed concern was treated differently. Nobody attempted to clear their table until after they met with the manager and left with complimentary gift certificates.
We spoke to our waiter about the situation and he apologized for the waitress behavior.
My friends and I didn’t want complimentary gift cards we just wanted to be treated fairly. We didn’t understand the reason why we were being rushed after receiving our order late and not prepared properly.
In conclusion, this restaurant could be a very nice place, however, as for me and my friends will not visit it...
Read moreABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! You have to try Mario’s! I used to bring my two older children here every Friday night for dinner and remember how delicious everything was. I haven’t been here for 18 years and while driving by, I decided to bring my husband for dinner (and I didn’t have to cook). I had Veal Sorrentino ($25) and asparagus ($9) and my husband had Chicken Ala Mario ($19). I wouldn’t care if it was $40 each. They were out of this world delicious. I know the Osso Buco is $39, stuffed artichoke ($15), and stuffed mushrooms ($11) are beyond delicious too. The salad was fresh, and warm bread was served with olive oil garlic and basil. Sooo good! The portions are big enough that you could share; I think there’s a $5 charge.
I know you’re probably thinking, OK, Italian food; it’s just like any other Italian place. It definitely is not like Mario’s. Mario’s is the best!
It was early Friday evening and it was crowded! The courses were served so you have time to enjoy the food and have a conversation without being rushed, but there wasn’t a long wait for any of the courses. The wait staff is very professional.
The pictures are a picture of our table, how cozy the room is, how busy it was, and how much food was left over. Next time I’ll take a picture how beautiful the food is when it’s served. There is a bar area thar you can sit and wait for karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. I used to do that with my girlfriends. My husband’s plate was empty of course. Teehee! I took my food to go and there was enough for lunch and dinner the next day!
I had flan and Hubby had cheesecake. Again, delicious, delicious, delicious. To sum it up, The food was out of this world 18 years ago and still is to this day! It’s actually better! This is going to be our new dinner spot! You won’t be...
