We have visited this particular restaurant because we have always received the at most service and respect. On today's visit we arrived at 6:48 pm. I placed our receipt and drinks order on the table as required. My 8 year old daughter and I went to make our food selections in two different trips. Once we got back to our table to enjoy our meal, approximately 8 minutes later, I noticed that neither our drinks or dinnerware were at our table. I looked around and didn't see any attendants in the immediate area. I went to the station area and retrieved our own silverware. Sat down for approximately another 2 minutes passed when finally a server (Jaime) arrived to serve our drinks. I explained that we have been waiting and I had to get our own dinner wear. Jaime's response was apologizing stating that they were very busy. I explained to her that it's been busier at other times and we have never had to wait. Jaime at that point began to make very disrespectful facial expressions and would not allow for me continue with what I was attempting to share with her. I strongly agree that the customer is not always right, however, we should be allowed to express our concerns. At this point, the manager approached the area to listen. I asked the manager to kindly get another server to service our table, which he did. I was unable to enjoy our meal because another customer approached Jaime and began to speak very derogatory of the interaction in a very low tone but not softly enough. Instead of Jaime asking for the customer to approach the manager with his concerns, Jaime continued the derogatory conversation during the entire time of our visit with the other customer within a few feet which I was able to listen to. I purposely did not respond to their interaction because I was with my young daughter and not want to endanger her in case the issue would have escalated. Jaime and the manager are obviously are racist and do not respect the people they serve. There is a camera in this section that will support my complaint. I will strongly reconsider if I will visit this particular site again. Sadly, we visit this Universel City location regularly every two weeks. I will consider not because of the issue, it's because the manager and Jaime. The manager instead of moving Jaime to a completely different station to prevent any further interactions she was allowed to stay in the area that allowed a very stressful environment which prevented me from enjoying my meal. Instead of eating, I took this time while I was still seated her in the restaurant to write this complaint. The manager just put a bandaid on the issue. I strongly believe he needs re education and training on his management skills. I hope that corporate will review this complaint, but strongly believe it will be swept under the rug and no action...
Read moreTook my mom for Veterans Day dinner like I always do, and everything was hot and fresh and delicious, service was really good even as we had to sit in the waaaaay back, and the guests of course were awesome. Only issue I had was the super tall guy directing guests from the register to the servers was very much like a Mack truck and not cause of his size alone; just because he’s near 7 feet tall doesn’t mean he doesn’t need to watch for the short people OR be harsh to his guests - not only do they pay his paycheck but these in particular were veterans!! I saw him in the beginning when we all started with lines and etc nearly step on a kid of maybe ten or eleven, and back into a little old lady, as his demeanor and tone were “get outta my way I’m directing traffic” and that’s great intention but customer service bro! Also, when handing the vets their food vouchers before the vets even got their drinks, again, rough and rude and THIS was the first contact with a GC employee after having waiting in a very long line. We know what to expect line wise and we appreciate that GC was planning ahead so register didn’t get clogged with who has to pay Vs who doesn’t, but again, delivery is everything and the vets deserve better! DAV could find some other place -especially here in Military City- to partner with for a free meal for our veterans, so it ought feel like it’s GCs PLEASURE to serve that particular population. Last but not least, on my way out I asked same big guy for a water cup to take my drink to go, and he literally wanted to haggle me for $0.54! Like seriously! When I jokingly asked him “what if its for my veteran?” he still was deadpan “$0.54!” so I wound up leaving my cup, Bt had I asked my server I bet HE would have brought me a cup any day of the week. If GC costs OVER $20.00 for ONE dinner and a lemonade and is seriously THAT hard up for training decent service OR their $0.54, I’m glad I only come a few times a year instead of like some other places I take my vet to twice a...
Read moreOk so it's Sunday. We came for breakfast. Which they only do on the weekends. Over half of the breakfast items were out. Gone. And they weren't restocking them since lunch was in 40 minutes. Ok, that's still 40 minutes for breakfast. In 30 minutes I and my family will be gone! My complaint is about timing, service and attention to details. The kitchen staff seemed disorganized. Scrambled eggs were floating in liquid. No biscuits and gravy. No hash browns. Half or more of the containers or their locations were empty. There was no bacon. No patty sausage. About 15 pieces of link sausage. The salad bar area looked pretty well stocked. The dessert area was ok being stocked but with the premium deserts. I asked for more bacon. He said it's right there pointing to the empty container. He said just a minute, I will look for some. He didn't see it right away then started doing something else. After a few minutes I asked him again. He replied again just a minute- I'm busy. So I guess the premium price we paid for food didn't matter. So now beginning the transition to lunch. When he finally brought the bacon out. It was a jumbled mess as hard as a rock- over cooked. So why are we here and paying a premium amount? When we first tried to get a table, there were so many full of dirty dishes with no people there, it was like there was nobody cleaning. We were done eating at 11:00 it's lunch time now. Still all of the food was not out for service with people standing in front of the counter just waiting, and waiting... We not only got very few choices of food, what we got was not enjoyable and by far, very much Not Worth anything close to what we paid for. Did I mention that the employee at the entrance counter getting out drinks and our payment was very rude? Oh, I missed that part. Moral of this story at this location, good luck! Don't come between 10:00 and 11:00 am on a Sunday! (OK, but that is a premium time to...
