Red Devil Pizza — Restaurant in Upland

We visited Red Devil Pizza on Friday evening around 5:45 PM. Picked up the kids from school and we all wanted pizza! Little did we know it was going to be packed—I guess people showed up to celebrate a birthday party and to watch the Dodgers game! It was a lively atmosphere.

Food: Basket of Fries: Served with ketchup and ranch, very tasty with a hint of garlic. Arrived promptly.

Wings (5): Standard wings, served with ranch. Came out alongside the fries.

Pizza: We ordered the Meat Lovers pizza. Took a while to get to our table, but once it did, oh man, we devoured it. Cheesy with a slightly toasted crust—it was perfect.

Drinks: I preordered two beers, which was a smart move—though I should have ordered three! By 7 PM, the line to order food and drinks (same line) was long. They have a solid beer selection, including Shark Top, Angry Orchard, Stella Artois, 805, Mango Cart, Modelo, and Coors Light—something I couldn’t tell from online, so it was a nice surprise.

Ambience: Tables, booths, and arcade games—all games on game cards ($10 for 200 credits). Busy with families and kids. The kitchen staff looked hot—literally—so a fan in the kitchen would help. The restrooms could use some attention as well.

Service: Friendly and really attentive. The staff did an excellent job managing the busy crowd.

Cleanliness: Needs improvement. Tables and chairs could be wiped down more frequently, and someone should regularly buss tables.

B rated by the Health Department. The place gives you a bad vibe upon entering. We saw a sauce in a large mixing bowl being prepared behind the bar. Staff reaching and stretching arms and body over the bowl to fill our drinks. From the bar, we saw deli meat being sliced by a machine next to dirty and cracked walls. We ordered an appetizer basket. When it was ready, a staff member with long braided hair dropped the basket onto our table and quickly walked away without providing us with paper plates for a family of four. We had to get up and ask for plates and parmesan seasoning. At the time we were there they ran out of straws for the drinks. It took a long time for staff to clean the tables used by prior guests. There were hardly any guests to begin with. They all wear black shirts in one form or another to have uniformity. But anything goes besides that. I came here with my family to enjoy pizza and watch the Dodgers game. I recieved a pizza that had toppings that were incorrect from my order. When I appraoched the counter to notify them of the mistake I was asked to bring the incredibly hot pizza pan back to the counter. When I did I then spoke with Isabell the manager who was incredibly rude and blamed the mistake on me claiming that the order was repeated back to me and that I confirmed it. That was a bit confusing to me due to the fact that my husband placed the order, not me. When I informed her of this and before even seeing him she then claimed the order was repeated back to my husband and that he supposedly confirmed it. I informed her that my husband would never order a pizza with mushrooms let alone confirm that because I am allergic to them. Despite waiting for a hour for a incorrect pizza Isabelle said she would have the pizza remade and put it in to be made "when they had time". Stating that she would not rush it and that the current wait time was a hour. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this place or be visiting as a customer ever again.
