I recently had an unfortunate experience at a local McDonald’s that I feel compelled to share. As a direct care professional, I prioritize ethical conduct and adhere to laws that ensure fairness and proper treatment of those in my care. My visit to this particular McDonald’s left a lot to be desired.
Upon entering the establishment, I placed two separate orders—one for myself and another for a consumer I was assisting. Given the legal and ethical considerations surrounding my profession, I requested separate checks to avoid any misunderstanding. Regrettably, my request was not met with understanding or professionalism.
The drive-through manager’s response was not only discourteous but also unprofessional. Instead of addressing my request in a respectful manner, the manager chose to react with hostility, even resorting to using offensive language. This level of customer service was deeply disappointing, especially considering the importance of accommodating diverse needs and preferences.
The incident not only left a negative impression on me but also on the consumer I was accompanying. It’s disheartening to see an establishment disregard the importance of upholding ethical standards and respecting the rights of its customers. As someone who values inclusivity and respect, this experience at the local McDonald’s was quite unsettling.
In the end, I hope that this incident serves as an opportunity for the management of this McDonald’s location to reflect on their approach to customer service. Treating all customers with respect, understanding, and professionalism should be a fundamental principle for any business, especially one as well-known as McDonald’s.
While I understand that instances of miscommunication can occur, the drive-through manager’s response was beyond what one should expect from a reputable establishment. I hope that in the future, this McDonald’s will take steps to ensure a more positive experience for all patrons, regardless of their specific circumstances.
In conclusion, my recent visit to this local McDonald’s was marred by unprofessional behavior and a lack of understanding towards customers’ needs. I urge the management to address these concerns and strive to create a more respectful and inclusive environment for all who visit their...
Read moreI went to this location this past Saturday (07/31/21) around 11am, and went inside because the drive through was ridiculous as usual. There was a lady and her son, and an older woman walking in from the side door. That was it. The lady and her son had already ordered, the older lady waited at the counter for a few mins before someone took her order (small vanilla milkshake). I asked the lady how long they'd been waiting, and she said they'd ordered on the touch screen and were just waiting for their order. Not ONE employee said, "Hello, we'll be right with you..." nothing. There was effectively NO ONE behind the counter, just people walking around (and I get it, the drive thru was super busy, but at least tend to those IN your store also or acknowledge them!). I used to go to this McDonald's pretty often, mainly because of Laura, an employee who used to work there. I had ordered maybe 3 times, the same order, and she had it memorized. She knew the "old timers" by name and order (the senior citizens who'd come in for coffee and just spending time) and was just all around pleasant and just a GEM and made going in worth it. New Mgmt took over (a few years ago), and after one day, she transferred to the Dillsburg PA location. I have purposely driven an extra 15 mins out of my way on a few occasions just to say hi to her (and order my breakfast).
I drove to the McD's location at 1014 Wesley Drive, and as soon as I walked in, a young fellow (maybe 17yrs old??) greeted me with a smile and asked if he could help me. There were maybe 4 other people in the store and from the looks of the back staff, they were also busy. The difference between these two stores was night and day. I won't bother with this one any more,...
Read moreToday's visit wasn't so good. Staff is amazing, curtious and pleasant. Now our order is another story. Sodas were incorrect and not as stated by employee. Ordered a coke and a RB...recieved a coke and a diet coke. Ordered a bacon and cheese quarter pounder meal. Fries were fabulous! My burger was still red/pink in the middle. This location usually does well but this is the first time we have visited at noon so maybe wait to stop at this location during and off time. Gave them another chance this morning after working 3rd shift.....it will be the last time. Order was incorrect. Called store to see about refund...wasnt happy about having to drive back there to get my money. Girl who answered the phone, who wouldnt give her name, was rude and very short. When asked to for a number to contact store GM was given a number "to reach Jenna(GM) personally" and it turned out to be a corporate number and was hung up on. Called back, got a different girl, to get the name of the previous employee for when I spoke with Jenna and was told "call the number you were given" and hung up on again. That store has lost out business. I will say I went back to the store for the refund of the missing item and was refunded my entire purchase and the woman whom I spoke with then was pleasant and handled things well. The woman I spoke to at the corporate number was amazing and kind so kudos to her. This location needs some customer service training for their early morning...
