Di Constanza’s in Chester….review (Nigerian not pictured, Italian, turkey) Customer service 10/10 Ingredients 8.9/10 (veggies fresh, oil really good) Reviewing them in the order I liked them (Sn they do not put lettuce aka crunchy water on their subs) Italian 7.8/10 Turkey 8.3/10 Nigerian 8.9/10 The Italian didn’t have as much ummph of flavor from the meats as the Nigerian or Turkey but still was better than everywhere in DE except Ioannis and Sonny’s in Elkton. The turkey was salty and savory in a good way but not an overpowering way and the veggies compliment the meat creating a balance of flavor….i don’t usually get turkey subs but I think that might be my next review series The Nigerian…same as turkey salty and savory in the best way possible first bite was a “got dayum” bite where you have to look at the sandwich and be like “is this real” so because the Nigerian had the same turkey but the added benefit of corned beef(which was so good) and then the addition of the roast beef which was beefy and savory…i opted for mayo on this one and was def the right choice….I’ve only ever had the Nigerian from Olympics and from the first time I had it to the second the quality has gone down…I believe they have it at Hommes Hoagies so I’ll give theirs a try one day as well… Di Constanza’s 8.5/10 total ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very tasty sandwiches at a very fair price! We stumbled onto this little gem while road tripping and their hoagies were amazing! The staff were very helpful, friendly, and excited to have us in. We chatted about our trip and how we wound up here while they freshly sliced and cooked our cheese steak and Italian. It was a simple gesture that went a long way to make us feel welcome while traveling. Their homemade hot peppers were very flavorful with just the right amount of spice to them. I personally would've liked them a little hotter but they were very enjoyable. We also read their history wall and were stunned when we saw that this family business was 100 years old! Just goes to show the quality and care they must show to have made it that far! They also have a claim to the term hoagie. I enjoyed the articles saying that it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. A good sandwich is what matters and Di Constanza delivers on that! I highly recommend this spot!

5 Stars are not enough. Wow! Wow! Wow! After so many attempts to find that special umph that makes your taste buds jump, ladies and gentlemen I surrender. OMG! my young son echoed! 40 years it has been since my last visit to the East Coast and Diconstanzas has not shorted the effort. Everything, and I do mean everything was SUPERB! I truly do not know what else could be done to make a Cheese Steak any better. The prep, the roll, the grilled onions, the peppers, the tomatoes whew! Diconstanzas, the originator of the Italian sandwich! Hands down, THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

We just had a bad experience trying to order a hoagie. I called back and cancelled and the gentleman asked a question or two but not sure he understood out gripe so here it is. Let me start off by saying although i thought this place is expensive i raved to many about the taste of their hoagies including my wife. So we go to order: woman told us we need to tell her every single item we want on our italian hoagie do you know everything on an Italian hoagie? As i sure don't and I'm busy with work and maybe didn't have time to look it up live while on the phone with them so we try to tell her things we think are on the italian hoagie and i know I'm going to miss some seasonings or whatever because i just don't pay attention i just know they taste good then we say lettuce and tomatoes. She immediately stops us and tells us they don't put lettuce on italian hoagies... So what the hell is the point of making us detail every single thing we think we want on an Italian hoagie (in case we accidentally guess everything that is supposed to be on it) just so they can tell us they will not put lettuce on it? Ironically when i google italian hoagie every once i see has lettuce on it.

Suggestion perhaps the staff (who likely know what that particular place puts on their hoagies) run through each ingredient with a customer and just have the customer say yes or no if they want each item or not?

i will likely try to order from this place again as usually i think their hoagies taste good but i guess I'll have to like google each hoagie i order ahead of time ahead of time or...

3.75 stars. So, my honest take... I tried the Italian sub and cheesesteak twice. For me the best part of the Italian was the bread. God I really wanted to love it... yet although the meats are hand cut and a decent amount, none of the meats stood out to me it all just tasted the same and it lacked, in my humble opinion the touch of seasoning, oil vinegar mayo type feel I'm used to. I asked for sweets on the side one time and did not receive. I also felt the cheese was completely lost (I had to open the sub and look carefully to ascertain if there was provolone... and there was, yet very thin amount at the bottom and could not tell it was there flavor wise). Personally I was okay with no lettuce, yet overall the Italian was bland (for me). The cheesesteak meat for me was not a pleasant mouth feel due to lack of juiciness and too gristly... I did not think it was ribeye (if it was it did not seem to be), and the onions were nonexistent with very little cheese). Bread was again the best part. I tried this place based on a recommendation from a friend and the positive reviews. Personally, the food was not bad, but not for me as above. It made me not want to try again. Having said this, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. I could tell they had regulars... but I feel I can make a better Italian and cheesesteak...
