My first experience with this place was bad every Wednesday I take my client out to a different restaurant and on this particular day she wanted Chinese food we arrived we placed our order. They were not accommodating to what we wanted to order and she ordered wonton soup and was told that she could not have noodles without an additional price. They only gave out free noodles for the wonton soup in the evening for dinner, also I could not get a shrimp roll because they add chicken in the shrimp rolls and claim they make them fresh daily, along with other things that went wrong that day we decided to give them another chance this past Thursday we arrived. The tables were set with silverware and glassware when we were guided to the table that we were going to be seated the silverware and the glassware was removed by this man And we were given Styrofoam cups. I also picked up a to go menu from the front desk and it was taken from my hand because it was not the dine in menu then the person who was a male still only gave One menu to our table. I asked again why did you take the menu from me? He said with an attitude, because this is the to go menu I said Well how do you know we don’t want to order at later date when we are not coming into the restaurant as the phone runh he walked away to answer the front desk phone. I proceeded to go sit down, but I was so unhappy and so shook up. I looked back at him. He had his nose flared and he turned red then flagged me with disgust . I decided not to sit down and let that type of person cook for us. Who knows what they would have done to our food. I also asked on the way out the door why wasn’t we given the glassware to drink from and no one could give us an answer so we left the restaurant. If looks could kill, I would be dead and not writing this review. He was extremely rude and I would never ever give them business again, and I have already spread the word to people who I know who go to this restaurant in the area. I wish them...
Read moreAfter trying all of the local Chinese food spots when we moved to Upper Dublin 3+ years ago, Jade Garden is hands down our favorite Chinese takeout place in the area providing the best overall value and taste of a wide variety of menu items. Over the 30+ times we’ve ordered from here over the years, they are consistently delicious and we wanted to finally share a review showing our appreciation.
The combo dinners are an amazing value: the egg rolls are fried perfectly every time and the pork fried rice is a nice touch instead of plain rice. The General Tso’s chicken, Hunan shrimp, and beef and broccoli combo dinners are our go-to orders. The spare ribs are excellent. We like trying a variety of their dishes and everything that’s been new-to-us that we’ve tried has been great (sizzling triple delight, shrimp in rice wine vinegar sauce, etc.).
We also enjoy their sushi (the Tiger roll is the best!). While it may not be the best sushi we’ve ever had, they do an excellent job covering both Chinese and Japanese (and even some Thai) cuisines and the sushi and sashimi are always very fresh and great quality. We also really like the chicken teriyaki and the sushi and sashimi dinners are a good representation at an unbeatable price (we’ve tried many combo Chinese/Japanese places and Jade Garden is the best).
Maybe two times total the general Tso’s may not have been as crispy as we like, but the sauce and flavor are great. One time the cold Szechuan noodles were amazing and the next time it felt like there wasn’t enough sauce, but overall they are very consistent. They always get our order correct and it’s always ready within 10-15 minutes.
By far, Jade Garden has the best value in the area if you want one or two maki rolls and some Chinese food items for variety for a quick and easy dinner. We love this fantastic...
Read moreSo sad. We used to love this restaurant and did take out at least once a week. They recently changed owners and customer service has steadily gone downhill. I finally stopped going and now we need to search for a new place. I agree with other reviewers about the delivery driver. We are temporarily living on the 5th floor of an apartment building since our permanent home was destroyed by a tornado last fall. We continued to ordered from here and the driver actually left my food with a stranger in my building because he said it took me too long to get down the 5 floors. He shouted over the phone that he was too busy to wait and this was after I left his tip on my credit card when I ordered. I subsequently had several more problems with the last problem happening right in front of our front door security person who actually is the person here most often asked for restaurant referrals. She wanted to see what I ordered and it turned out that the jumbo shrimp entree I wanted to show her was mistakenly packed as a CHICKEN with vegetables. Although mistakes happen, when I called the restaurant in front of the security guard, they not only disputed what we were saying (actually insisted it was shrimp even though we were all looking at chicken) but wanted a picture of it, which we sent immediately and to add insult to injury after tipping for delivery and getting the wrong order, they wanted me to drive back to get the shrimp. This place needs some lessons on customer service or they will never make it in this area. The food is almost back to the way it was but it will take much polishing to clean up...
