06/21/15--Horrible catering experience, don't give them your business without reading the reviews! The owner refused to even offer any help to fix the situation and left us with a nightmare. Because of that, I have no other justice I can obtain but to give my story and hope you'll take your business elsewhere.
Employed them to cater our wedding of 200 guests, buffet style. The owner ensured us there would be more than enough food to feed 200, even 250 people. We asked multiple ways if this would be the case because we needed to make sure we wouldn't run out, and the owner himself said it wouldn't happen. This is VERY important in middle eastern cultures that there be plenty of food. Paid nearly $7,000 to do it. Fast forward to the reception.
After approximately 100 guests were served we started running out of items, and by 150 most meat entrees were empty. We, the groom and father of the bride, had to address it personally after guests were told they had run out of that food.
We asked the owner what was happening. He related that people ate too much, more than their single portion, and the food ran out. We told him this was not a plated dinner, it was specifically buffet style so people could eat what they wanted and we were ensured this wouldn't happen. He practically shrugged and related that he did what he was contracted to do, even brought 250 "portions" of each item, which for the meat and meat Currys was a single piece of meat. I couldn't even tell you the exact size of a piece---it was gone before we had any.
Any buffet catering owner, especially with his experience, knows the pitfalls of buffet style meals; And to change the units of measure on the day of from verbally ensuring 200 PEOPLE will be fed to bringing 200 "portions" (250) of each entree is dishonest. He skated by on a technicality to satisfy his minimum contract and did not fulfill the assurances he made to us. He showed no remorse, offered no help and we've suffered the fallout from people going hungry that night and thinking we penny pinched on the dinner. All because we followed his word. But he got his money and a hefty profit margin.
He even said something at the reception along the lines of that we should have ordered for 300 guests if we didn't want to run out. It was all I could do to make a cordial resolution and go back to my bride without losing my temperament. What gall.
Let's go one deeper: he then tried to con the father of the bride into giving him MORE money because he "thought" there were more than 200 people at the venue. There wasn't. Even if there would have been, how does that equal more money for him when he brought a set amount of food!
He touted multiple times that he catered events upwards of 700+ people. I shudder to think how many go hungry at those events.
I'm just now noticing others had the same or similar problem...it put a scar on an otherwise memorable day and dampered the night for almost a quarter of our guests that then paid for their own food elsewhere.
I suggest you do as well. Not because they're food isn't good, it is. It's delicious. But many of my guests never found that out because of the owner's business practices. And I can't endorse a restaurant that treats their customers like...
Read moreI had a party for 100 people here. Overall, the party was great. They did new renovations and it looks amazing. The food was pretty good so I would do it again. The owner was very friendly and easy going. The restaurant is getting closer to a 5 star but I would say still between 3/4. The biggest issues I had was service; otherwise the venue and food are good. The food supply was constantly low and the waiters were clueless about having things stocked. I get food costs but 30 minutes into dinner and running out, that’s not okay. We ran out of desserts. We got kulfi and jamun so paid extra and both ran out! How is that possible?! I talked to the owner and he said they only made about 1 kulfi per person, and was surprised we ran out. People took multiple, it was hot, and they were in the small Dixie cups, so what did they expect? This was also one of the few times they ran out of Jamun, but happened to my party which was unacceptable. Then one of the employees was like sorry we don’t have anymore so I went off and said go find something, I’m not paying this much money to hear you ran out. He brought of ras malai which was fine but he should’ve brought it out before I had to yell at him. Attitude- every single person working there had something to say back to me for everything I asked! Like no, I’m telling you to do something and not asking for anything too crazy, so do it. Suggestions are welcome but I just didn’t like the way some of them responded to me. At the end- The owner asked on behalf of his employees to tip them which is fine. But I already paid 18% gratuity so where is that money going then? I just didn’t like that My biggest problem was the employees were not taking plates from the table and didn’t even know they had to do it until I told the owner. Some of my guests were taking their dishes back which makes me look horrible as a host.
I talked to the restaurant after this review and they agreed all my point are valid so I’m happy they listened would be a 5/5 with improved service. Hopefully they can improve so your party goes even better! But thanks for a...
Read moreI AM REALLY DISSAPOINTED THAT A BUSINESS OWNER WOULD FLAT OUT LIE ON AN ENTIRE WEDDING PARTY!!! I TOO WAS PRESENT IN THIS WEDDING PARTY AND THE TRUTH IS THAT CDC GUIDELINES WERE NOT FOLLOWED OR ENFORCED AND THE FOOD COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER PERIOD!!!! TO ATTACK A CUSTOMER FOR EXPRESSING A TRUE FACT IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND CHILDISH. THE CORRECT RESPONSE FROM A BUSINESS OWNER SHOULD HAVE BEEN " WE APOLOGIZE THAT WAS THE IMPRESSION GIVEN AND WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE IT SAFER IN THE FUTURE" NOT THAT YOU WERE BULLIED OR ATTACKED! IF WE WERE SO BAD AND YOU WERE THREATENED, WHY WERE COPS NOT CALLED OR THE EVENT SHUT DOWN?? BOTTOM LINE....... GROW UP AND LEARN HOW TO PROFESSIONALLY RESPOND TO REVIEWS LIKE AN ADULT AND NOT A SPOILED CHILD!!!!
PT 2: RESPONDING
I THINK THAT WE SHOULD DISCUSS THIS ON THIS PLATFORM AS APPOSED TO IN PRIVATE. WHEN I ARRIVED ON SATURDAY, THERE WAS NO STAFF AT THE ENTRANCE CONDUCTING SCREENINGS OR MANDATING THE MASK RULE, THERE WERE ALSO NO POSTED SIGNS THAT A MASK IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRANCE. THERE WERE NO HAND SANITIZING STATIONS, THERE WAS ONE BOTTLE IN A CORNER ON A SHELF AND THERE WAS NO ENFORCEMENT OF THE SOCIAL DISTANCING MANDATE AS EACH TABLE THAT WAS PRESENTED BY YOUR ESTABLISHMENT HAD 12 CHAIRS. PATRONS DID NOT BRING THE CHAIRS FROM HOME, IT WAS ARRANGED BY YOUR STAFF IN THAT ORDER. AS PER THE DOH SAFTEY REQUIREMENTS: Gathering limits in place: Indoor events: 25% of maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size and only if attendees and workers are able to comply with the 6-foot physical distancing requirement YOU WERE IN COMPLETE VIOLATION PUTTING NOT ONLY THE PATRONS AT RISK, BUT YOUR STAFF. PLEASE USE THIS REVIEW TO DO BETTER IN...
