Following a frustrating service experience my wife had, I left a review expressing our concerns. We were subsequently contacted by the General Manager, Jim Kostack. Jim showed genuine concern about our feedback, which meant a lot to us as long-time customers who have purchased several vehicles from BMW of Fort Washington.
To his credit, Jim invited me in for a conversation, and we spent time discussing what happened. He was receptive to my concerns and took them seriously. Rather than dismissing the situation, Jim looked into the issue thoroughly, speaking directly with the staff involved.
Jim exceeded my expectations by taking meaningful action to help ensure that similar situations don’t happen again—not just for us, but for future customers as well. Additionally, he refunded part of the payment for work that, while possibly recommended, was not necessary and may have been misrepresented.
I want to sincerely thank Jim for stepping up, doing the right thing, and going the extra mile to make things right. His professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction were far beyond what I expected.
Original Review: If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is the embodiment of everything wrong with automotive service today: rampant predatory upselling, astronomical markups, and a complete disregard for transparency or integrity. This dealership used to have decent people working in the service department when it was privately owned.
My wife brought her vehicle in for a simple oil change and that simple request turned into a laundry list of "needed services" including pushing "A/C odor treatment" on an almost brand new vehicle. The upselling tactics were relentless high pressure and predatory, leaving her as if she couldn't say no.
In the end what should have been a $125 service bill instead ballooned to over $700. The invoice for a basic service and parts what triple what it should have been. A cabin air filter which costs between $30-40 online was priced at $150, a 400% markup with an additional $150 labor cost to install it. That is highway robbery.
