So, it’s an average diner. To me 3 stars means it’s on par with all other diners but nothing exceptional. Although, I have my doubts about the Roast Turkey dinner. I would only rate that at 2 stars. But the previous week I had a good tuna club, although a bit dry. And my friend enjoyed his dinner, Roast Turkey, the previous week and this week liked his open faced roast beef. Although he thought the Turkey looked different.
So to start, the waitress read the soups and included French Onion. We all know that’s usually an up charge but none was mentioned. I thought I was possibly getting a cup. But, when I saw the full crock I knew I was getting charged. Then 1/2 way through the soup she brought out the dinners. No bueno. I set aside the soup and looked at the Turkey and thought this was not roasted in house. Look at the photo and you decide. Typical diner Turkey gravy and I believe the mashed potatoes were instant. The stuffing was ok at best. I asked for 6 soufflé cups of cranberry sauce and she brought 3 extra. I had to ration it to my bites of Turkey to not run out. We decided to not return. But, it’s not that the food is bad it’s just average. And I was up charged for the...
Read moreDangerous! We told our server our twins had an egg allergy and we were given an allergy menu. We ordered according to the list. Then we were told the Macaroni and cheese had eggs so we selected the burger that my other daughter ordered off the allergy menu. While we waited for the second burger the server ran out and told my daughter to stop eating and that the roll was an egg roll. My daughter was startled and so were we. The server said she wrote egg allergy next to the kids menu items. How does this happen!!? We ran home to get Benadryl and my husband and I did not finish our meal. We were still charged and worse, we were offered free cookies... with egg. Like are you kidding?!? Why is your allergy menu incorrect?!?! How could the chef send out an unsafe roll and then change his mind after my daughter already ate some. This is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. As a parent of a child with a life threatening allergy, I am so upset that a restaurant would care so little about their customers and their children. Thankfully she did not have a severe reaction to this event, but I would eat anywhere else if you have a food allergy. This place...
Read moreI have to say, I've been going to Dino's for over twenty years.. not every week but on occasion. Staff is always friendly, but in last 3 visits. Probably a couple months apart.. visits were disappointing. Very long wait for service and longer for food, first time. Long wait just for service 2nd time after seated. 3rd time terrible service , extremely long wait for food.. no check back service.. asking how was everything? Wish she would have asked since she walked by our table a number of times because my creamer for coffee was spoiled in pouring urn.. i would have loved to get a different cup of coffee (my first and only)but she never stopped back. We got up , paid for our breakfast.. and left.. In the older days, this would have never happened.. just don't know what's become of our favorite Diner.. My kind advice would be, stay on top of cooks with expediter, make sure products aren't left out and check food for freshness and bad expiration.. and thirdly, don't give servers more customers that they can handle or hire...
