My family frequents Ocean View, NJ during the summer months, which is located near two pizza shops; Vita Bella being one of them. The other pizza shop is typical of NJ shore fare: expensive, low quality, and you would probably not order from it if you had this option at home, but, because you have limited options at the shore, it'll have to do. Vita Bella, however, is quite the opposite: prices are fair, quality is great, and I often wish they had a location back home for me to visit. I haven't had much outside of their pizza, but it's always been good. It's a decent thin crust pizza that you might expect to find in Philly or NY, and their Vita Bella special pizza is incredible. Also, it might seem unfair to other locations at the NJ shore, but the staff always seems pleasant and they don't act like their doing you a favor just by providing the food that you purchased. On that note, I often say that I am sure the NJ shore locals must have a love/hate relationship with Philly and NY visitors in the sense that they appreciate the business (it's a long, cold, hard winter without it) but they probably have had it with most of them by the time July comes to an end (let's face it, dealing with the public is hard, and dealing with the public on vacation must be a nightmare). In any event, though, I get the impression that Vita Bella is not just trying to squeeze every last drop out of the summer season before slashing hours and taking off for Florida come fall; rather, they conduct business like they are a local staple all year long and appreciate your business whether you're a visitor or a local, and I have proof! Specifically, besides the aforementioned virtues, I always think it's really kind/sweet/warm/nice that when I pick up pizzas, Vita Bella staff offer/provide me paper plates and napkins. If you visit the NJ shore, you know you pretty much have to pack your house (dishes, linens, etc ) and then you have to cook and clean the whole time; it's a give and take vacation. So, although the gesture of offering paper plates and napkins might seem trivial, I/my wife consider it very kind as it is less dishes that we have to wash, not to mention Vita Bella foots the bill for those paper products (it might seem neglible, but think how often they offer those plates and napkins and you start to understand costs add up). So, I would definitely recommend Vita Bella all year round, and especially if you're visiting nearby for the...
Read moreThis place has the worst customer service. I called and placed an order at 6:41 and gave them my cc info. The guy told me how much the order would cost and that it would take 45 minutes to an hour. After about an hour and 15 minutes we called and they said the driver was ten minutes away. They then called back and said we never placed and order. I asked to speak to a manager which apparently they had none on duty cause they put on an ignorant kid who kept telling me I never called and placed an order. He said he would read back the last four digits of the last few cc orders they took and proceeded to read off my credit card so someone took down my credit card information but not my order? He never once apologized to me and told me it was not worth arguing over and he hung up on me. I waitressed for most of my life and I would never treat a patron that way. Never treated with such disrespect. At least apologize for the mistakes that your incompetent workers made but to hang up on me. This place...
Read moreWorked there for money on the side and couldn’t wait to find a new job. Both from a customers POV and an employees POV, I do not suggest you stop by.
All frozen food and will drop food on floor and still serve it. (Don’t worry they brush the dirt off!) Multiple times I had to take food from the cooks in the kitchen so they didn’t try to sell moldy pre made, frozen Sicilian doughs, knives that fall on the floor and they just wipe it on their pants, and unprofessional business practices. The only thing going for them was the pizza, the pizza is good, but the sanitation to make the food is awful. No quality control.
THE LAST HEALTH INSPECTION WAS 3 YEARS AGO and it...
