WARNING: Food is not served in ceramic dishware as advertised. Instead, steaming hot Tteokbokki is dumped in a large plastic tub. Very wasteful and full of microplastics. Our container was practically melting. 🫠
The advertisement in front of this restaurant clearly show the food served in stainless bowls. we ordered “dine-in” – which apparently means nothing. Plastic utensils, plastic bag, plastic bowl 🤢
Sadly we threw the order away. They told us there were no actual hard dishes available 🤷
The other restaurants at Hmart appear to serve their food in actual dishware and not plastic. I only write this for the people out there who are trying to avoid wasteful and toxic plastics.

Read moreThe food was decent (approved by my Korean friends!), but I couldn’t understand why everything had to be packed in to-go containers—even for dine-in orders. We weren’t informed about this until we arrived to pick up our food, which was disappointing. Serving in reusable bowls and plates would have been so much better, both for the environment and for photos.
Another issue was the wait time. We were the first to order (with no one ahead of us), yet at least three customers who ordered after us received their food before we did.

In an attempt to make my lunch palatable, I asked if I could add the beef bulgogi. I was told that I could not. I let them know I didn’t care for the soup as it was and they told me they were sorry.
