We purchased about $4,500 worth of furniture from Carters at Thanksgiving 2019. It had to be ordered and didn't deliver till after the new year. The order had 3 Best Chair pieces on it. We went with Best Chair brand because of previous experience (including working as a vendor in their plants) with them as a higher end / quality / American made manufacturer. We were told the 3 units were genuine American leather. Fast Forward to August of this year and one of the recliners developed a dis-coloration spot on the head rest. When we noticed it we reached out to Carters for assistance. After waiting for a response for a week we were finally asked to provide pictures and told "it would be taken care of". It took another week for a reply to say it was normal wear. Sorry but good leather doesn't dis-color. Carter said they could order a new back for the chair but wasn't clear if it would be warranty . We did not hear anything for 2 weeks until we reached back out and was told they wanted $200 to replace the back and would offer no guarantee that the next back would not dis-color again. This was not our first purchase from Carters, we have purchased there several times over the last 25 years and always had a good experience. Their (and Best Chairs) refusal to stand behind their product will make sure this purchase will be our last from either company. If we wanted inferior quality we could have spend much less at one of the chain stores. Lesson learned; because a company used to a local owned stand up operation that can change with time and sometimes they are just surviving on...
Read moreCarter's furniture is amazing! We had just bought a house and sold our couch along with it so we were looking for something we could bring home that day. We found a beautiful floor model leather couch and recliner for a great price; they even let us take a brand new recliner instead of the floor model because it was already wrapped up and the electronics hadn't been used. Despite their offer to deliver it to us for free, we decided to take it home in our truck so they helped us load them up and my husband tied them down. We arrived at home and realized we were missing the back to the recliner. Called the store, they remembered helping us load it. So, we retrace our path and find it, there on the side of the road annihilated like a dead animal, fluff everywhere. Knowing we bought a floor model without a store warranty, we called Carter's back to let them know it was our mistake, and they offered to give us a back from another recliner for a very small fee, and they would order one from the company to complete their chair. I am amazed and so appreciative of the excellent people...
Read moreIf I could give Carter's - especially Deb Studniarz and GM Rich Wright 20 stars I would. I have been working with Deb for the last year to furnish the first floor of Alpha Delta Pi at UIUC. Our chapter house went thru a year long renovation during which Deb helped me coordinate fabrics and pieces to furnish 8 major spaces. Chapter houses are unique in that we have to have pieces that hold up well over time but are lively and fun for collegians. I had 2 main goals - budget and branding. I wanted our chapter home to be a reflection of our sorority but at the same time we had a very specific budget. Deb hit it out of the park! Our home is vibrant and colorful while comfy and cozy. It reflects ADPi throughout and yet Deb brought it in on time and on budget! Plus, Deb's contacts in CU helped me with other items like blinds and banquette upholstery. Carters coordinated delivery and helped with artwork and lighting. Our chapter home is an incredible space that makes ADPi shine on the UIUC campus.
