Went to "The Range" to have lunch and enjoy the KC Chiefs play-off game with 3- friends today. We sat in the sports bar on the (north-side of bar), had ordered a couple of drinks and ask bartender if he could turn down the speaker in our area (playing music) and put sound on of the game. He stated he could not, put game sound on though speaker in our area, but could turn the TV speaker up, we agreed that would be fine (still very hard to hear). Not more than 5 minutes into the game he came over and said manager said he had to turn TV sound down, again we agreed that would be fine. Not more than 2 minutes elapsed and again bartender stated manager said he had to turn the TV sound completely down. At this time we ask to speak with manger, he came by and said if it was the Super Bowl or any other big game, then the sound would be OK. I walk over to the other side of bar (south-side of bar), where there was a table of 3-young men, I asked if the TV sound was bothering them, they all responded didn't know TV sound was even ON, I approached another table of a couple, they responded the same way (only customers in the bar area). The golf simulators patrons I NO could not hear TV sound. Not sure why you would call your self a sports bar if all you can do is see sports but not able to hear sporting events on TV (Like NFL Play-Off Games). Me and my friends have patronize the "The Range" a few different times over the last 2 years of there operations, (playing golf, food & beverages), but after our experience today we'll Never patronize again. I hope the manger is also part of the ownership team of this business, if not he has no business managing this facility. He may think he's in the restaurant business, but he actually in the people business, and that's not how you take care of people (customers). It's too bad a business of this nature which could be allot more successful, if managed properly. Truly would have gave NO stars, but in order to post comment had to give at least one star.
Very Disgusted Customer...
Read morePrior to today, I would have given Range 5 stars. I had eaten there a half dozen times before so when my son asked me where I wanted him to take me for Mother's Day I told him Range. Our reservation was for 1:00. He was there and seated when I arrived. We ordered fairly quickly. I excused myself at 2:15 and went to the restroom, stopping afterward at the welcome desk and asking about our meals. The greeter said that she would check on it. A staffer came out and apologized and said that our meal would be prepared shortly and that our ticket only had two parties ahead of it. Say what? All around us, people had arrived, eaten, and left. They offered, and we accepted, a soup for me and salad for my son-- to tide us over. That really helped. Excellent butternut soup! At 2:33 our "meals" arrived. My sons breakfast club was a mess. The bread was barely toasted and the bacon was barely cooked. It was just plain gross. The cheese sauce was a dreadful pinkish color. My salad was drenched in dressing. (I brought it home and placed it on paper toweling.) Two different staffers asked us about our meals. My son, who eats just about anything, said fine, but I told them the truth. It was awful. The first one offered to make something else, but as they walked away, my son said he didn't want to wait another 1.5 hours... Another person came and asked us, and again, he was kind, & I was honest, and this person said that they would take the "sandwich" off of the bill. We tried to laugh it off, saying we will always remember THIS Mother's Day. Did they try to make it right? In a begrudging kind of way, yes. By the third interaction they offered to reduce the bill, but not because of the time but because the food was so obviously awful. The offer should have been made when they realized that we had been there for nearly 90 minutes. Go ahead and try Range. I think that we just hit...
Read moreThere was a group of 8 of us. Everyone got their meal besides my Fiancé. It took our waitress 15 minutes to come back and check on us as she ignored my Fiancé when he tried to get her attention to ask where his meal was. The waitress did not care that we were still waiting on his food, she went back to the kitchen and then 10 minutes later came back to the table to tell him it was going to be 6-7 minutes. She apologized (was not genuine) then offered him a free beer, 20 minutes later STILL no meal. The waitress ignored our table as we all wanted more water and more drinks. At this point the whole table is almost done with their meals, and my fiancé still did not receive his. She came back to the table again and acted confused that he still didn’t have his meal. She then said that we would get a free dessert at this point we did not care. We just wanted him to have his meal. Another 30 minutes goes by he still doesn’t have his meal. The free dessert comes out before his meal. The waitress just looked at us and disappeared for another 10 minutes. At this point we flag down a hostess to get a Manager. The manager apologized and stated she did not know this was going on and then his meal finally came out and he did not want it. It took another 30 minutes for the waitress to come back so we could get our checks and then in that time another meal that would’ve been his came out. This was a terrible experience, handled poorly by the waitress and the manager. He they comped his meal and that was it, and the waitress charged us for his FREE beer. Once we noticed that you were tired of going back-and-forth with the waitress and the manager so we paid way too much money to have a miserable experience and we will never be...
