I have been to Mario's numerous time over the last few months but it seems something has changed and I am very sad about it. This was such a GOOD pizza place, reminded me of that classic NY style pizza. The picture of the full pie is from my visit on 12/26. The pizza was amazing with stringy cheese, light and chewy dough, and seasoned to perfection. I recommended to all of my neighbors. But tonight, the pizza tasted like it came from a completely different shop (picture with missing slices). The dough tastes fake with a weird chewy texture. Decided give this place a shot last night (8/29) and ordered large mushroom/sausage pizza. Looked good but they slice their sausage horizontally long and thin and apparently they use canned mushroom. Took a big, hungry bite and it was by far the saltiest pizza I've ever eaten. Almost as if someone decides to have fun and pour salt on it. First i thought it must be the sausage.. nope! The sauce was ridiculously salty. How do you make such an awful sauce and think it's ok to serve it in all of your food? Don't they taste their ingredients before?
