6/4/2023 - Editing my review again back to 5 stars, and I am so happy to be doing this!!! Took a break from coming here for a while, but been back/did takeout a few times since December 2022 and every experience since then has been consistent, good quality and the tastes for the dishes are back to being crave worthy. I'm so happy to be writing this because no other place has taco pizza or wings like here to me. I don't know what changed, but so happy I can now want to go back here for a good experience again.
5/2022 - Editing my review from 5 stars to 2 stars. I have been going to Rocco's for nearly 20 years and for the majority of that time it has been such a treat to eat their taco pizza, wings and fries. It really hurts me to write this because I want to support Rocco's but something needs to change here.
I have been very disappointed recently with the quality of the food, I understand it is a pandemic and there are supply chain issues but I'd rather pay even more to get the tastes I crave from here.
For the past 4-5 visits, something has changed in a bad way which is a surprise because I have never had a bad meal from Rocco's in all these years. For the majority of those visits, the taco pizza has been bland and soggy and lacking in hot sauce/gorgonzola topping; the fries have been underdone and are a worse quality while the wings have similarly been underdone and lacking in flavor.
We usually do takeout since we live farther away so we thought maybe the issues would resolved when eating at the restaraunt but that was not the case. Our fries came out soggy and mealy, we were served underdone and soggy, bland taco pizza again and asked them to reheat the pizza but nothing fixed it and the server saw no issue with the food. I don't blame the server because they are not the ones cooking but it was so weird. The wings were also, again, underdone. I took my friend here to show her the place I've been going to for forever and it was pretty embarrassing honestly to see how far the the food has fallen.
Maybe this is a temporary thing; I went this past weekend with my family when they visited town as they always ask to eat at Rocco's and the taco pizza was actually able to get crisp this time and not slimy. The fries and wings were still bad. I just don't understand as the last very good meal I had from Rocco's was not that long ago until we started getting some of this poor quality. It just didn't really seem like anyone cared honestly.
I'm seriously so sad because this place has held such a special place in my heart but I find with each disappointing experience, I crave it less and less and the drive seems less worth it. Again, I'd pay even more on top of the price increase to just get better quality cooking/ingredients.
I hope Rocco's turns around. Until then, I think we'll be taking a break from...
Read moreEverytime I have ordered from here, be it dine-in or take-out, something has been wrong with my order. The problem is that each time something went wrong and I brought it to their attention, the blame was passed back to me. The online ordering system they provide, apparently does not work. I was told that if I want my order to be accurate, I need to call. Okay, so I did that the last time after you messed up the previous time and the order was still wrong each time so, which is it? I call, the orders wrong and it's my fault. I order online, it's wrong again and my fault. I sit down to eat with my family, making sure to spell out exactly what we want (which is a basic Menu Item that is offered by you with no alterations or substitutions) and I'm still told I ordered incorrectly. It doesn't matter to me if your online ordering system is programmed incorrectly and showing your cooks the wrong orders, the kids on the phone are placing the wrong orders or if your servers are entering orders incorrectly out of ignorance or a lack of menu knowledge. The fact that you have constantly deflected blame back to the customer is why I'm writing this novella. Stop blaming your customers for your own failings! The final nail was when I had the cooks chuckling in my face about how I didn't know what I ordered and that what they gave me is what I ordered. No. No it wasn't. When I provided them the e-mail receipt showing they made the wrong item, they just shrugged, laughed it off and told me to "Call next time", while the boss yelled about the phone ringing. I've called, ordered in person and over the phone, to the same result. I must be insane. Management is obviously incompetent and cares very little about customer service. Oh yeah! They never once met their pickup time, and on one occasion they "lost my ticket" and I had to sit and wait 40 minutes while they prepared it. Not even a "My Bad".
Updated to a 3 star. Owner called and apologized and offered to make things right. Classy move and...
Read moreI called in an order for a large cheese pizza, for carry out. The young girl told me it was going to be 15 minutes and gave me my number. I waited a few more minutes beyond. I walked in, place was not at all busy. A girl was cleaning tables. Maybe it was the girl who took my order. Maybe not. I pay the $17+ on CC to an older guy, and go back to my hotel room.
Why does every piece of my pizza smell like cleaning product? After eating a slice or two, it becomes apparent something is wrong. The whole pizza smells like cleaning product. I call, and speak with a different guy, with Hispanic accent, who says "that's weird". Weird? No. That's wrong. I shoildnhave said. At any rate, I told him I am going to be going back for a refund.
I show up, three females, who apparently work there, are leaving. I walk in. Yet a different guy, not the one who originally fulfilled my order, not the other guy on the phone, but a younger guy was at the front counter. I laid it all out. I asked about their health inspection, if maybe I should call, I even asked about ICE, if everyone working there is legal. He assured me everything was on the up and up.
He says he processed the refund but wouldnt give me a receipt. I was adamant about the receipt. He said he couldn't. I was firm. He handed me 17 in cash, which I took, and he said now I'm doubly refunded. I said if he gave me the receipt, I wouldn't accept the cash.
Anyways, someone should seriously look into this place, in terms of health inspection and legal or illegal status of the people working here. You don't mess with someone's food. It's wrong and a crime. I've never been to this place before and know none of the people there. Like I said, I'm visiting from out of town. Needless to say, as regards a man's food, something that wrong with it, no second chances. I do not recommend...
