This review is for a pickup order. I was cheated out of money and given horrible food.
I'm extremely disappointed with the service provided by the staff at this restaurant. I called to place an order for pickup. I ordered four carne asada tacos, three bean and cheese pupusas, six bean pupusas, Mexican rice, and three horchatas. The employee who took my order correctly repeated my order back to me and said that it'd take 25 minutes to prepare the order. Everything sounded good so I sent my brother to pick up the order.
When my brother returned with the food, he told me that the total cost was $110. That immediately raised red flags in my head so I looked through the bags only to find that my order was incorrect. Instead of three bean and cheese pupusas, we were given three bean and cheese burritos. A bean and cheese pupusa is $5.25 while a bean and cheese burrito is $13.50 which was why the total cost was way off. Initially, my brother did not want to make another round trip to get our correct order, so he said he'd eat the burritos anyway. We cut one burrito in half and were disgusted with what we saw. It was a soggy burrito filled with old refried beans and a sprinkle of cheese. I wish I had taken a picture so that you can see how sad and disrespectful the burrito was, but I was so shocked and disappointed that my first thought was to wrap it back up. There was no way that he was going to eat the mess in front of us. I immediately called the restaurant to explain the issue and they said that he should come back and they'd "fix the problem".
When he returned to the restaurant, the staff took the burritos from him and swapped them with pupusas. The staff did not apologize or give him a refund for the incorrect charge. So we were ultimately robbed of over twenty-five dollars. To make matters worse, the food was not good. The beans had no flavor whatsoever. The only enjoyable item was the horchata.
I recommend that you avoid this restaurant...
Read moreThe food is fantastic, prices are very reasonable, you absolutely get what you pay for. For $11.99 you can get either a 3 enchilada plate with rice and beans (with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on top of your enchiladas), or a 3 item plate where you can mix and match any combination of the items listed and it comes with rice and beans, $9.99 for a 2 item, $7.99 for a 1 item, and their pupusas are anywhere from $3-$4.00, they even have a decent sized side of guacamole for $3.99 (plenty big enough for one person who is also having food). The quality of the food is wonderful, it really feels like you are at your friends house and her mom and dad are making food for you. They really care about what they are serving you, and they want you to enjoy it. You can order over the phone if you don't feel like getting ready to go out or if you're not feeling well and still want some amazing food. They usually have whatever soccer match is on, and they also serve Mexican sodas, regular...
Read moreThe food is delicious. I especially like their refried beans and mexican rice. Perfect amount of seasoning. They start you off with chips and salsa which is usual for any mexican restaurant. The green salsa was spicy but not overly (but I'm a chili head) and the red salsa had great flavor.
We got a 3 item plate. Pupusas, mixed with cheese and pork. Enchilada with chicken, and quesadilla with shredded beef. All were well seasoned and flavorful.
My only gripe was with their ceviche. The tiny shrimp were not deveined and you can see the poop inside the shrimp. I would have used 10-20 shrimp, deveined then chopped up.
So Chips and Salsa to start. 3 item plate with rice and beans and one tostada shrimp ceviche came out to $19.95 out the door. Super economical for this...
