I’ve been here twice now...I’m from Savannah where most place are family friendly places that are adult oriented. I was so excited that Valdosta was finally getting a place that I thought my family could go and enjoy a good time while the adults could have a few beers. I think the two can be synonymous?? Maybe it’s the way I grew up....
We went with 3 kids. 3 adults. Our kids (all in the toddler range) were immediately compelled to the gravel that was outside. But we were watching them closely. Within a 10 minute period we had 2 people come from outside to let us know that our children were throwing gravel towards the windows...which unnaceptable, no doubt. But I also addressed before the employee was even outside to give us a lecture about how the gravel was nasty and we shouldn’t let our children play in it. About 10 minutes later, a bearded fellow asked us to clean the gravel off the cornhole boards because they might be scratched. He wasn’t friendly about it.
I get it. Kids aren’t everyone cup of tea. But I have 2 little girls that I feel are pretty well behaved and I like to do activities that still make me feel human. So sue me. We won’t be going here as a family again. Maybe my husband and I will go...but honestly since they don’t serve food it doesn’t seem worthy to spend money for a babysitter. They have the atmosphere and the beer thing down pat. Maybe the costumer service could use...
Read moreThe reason we go to breweries is to taste beers. Usually we each get a flight, so we are able to taste six or more beers, and from there we will each choose one or two to order by the pint. But this place has no flights! I have been to about sixty breweries (we travel by RV and beer tasting is a hobby) and have never been to a place where I couldn't taste a selection of their beers!! I was told I could have "a taste" of two beers. So I did that and liked one of the two and ordered one pint. Didn't like that one well enough to have a second pint, and didn't like the other one well enough to drink an entire pint. If I had been able to taste other beers, I would have purchased the flight and then TWO pints. I get that you don't want freeloaders standing there drinking free taste after free taste. But seriously, this is a flawed business model for anyone who seriously wants to taste beer!!
I read the owner's response below, but it just does not fit with our experience. We were there at 4 PM, and there were maybe four or five other couples in total at the brewery. We sat outside and I didn't see a single person with a flight--just pints. Not sure what the heck happened, but we were...
Read moreI went in with a well traveled friend who was eager to patronize the establishment. My friend has been to far more breweries than I but, I found this establishment to be enjoyable. It was not over cluttered with wall decor. The interior was simple but not stark. It had 4 long tables and about 3 high top tables for patrons to sit at. About 10 In House beers were available for purchase; more selections would be available after next round of brewing. I was in the mood for either a Pilsner or a Sour beer this round. I had a "Tropical Isles IPA" and it was a very good sour-tasting beer. It had a strong taste of grapefruit and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was disappointed in the lack of food service but I understand they don't really offer any food fare. Patrons can bring outside food in to eat though. Some patrons were doing this. One such patron even brought in Chic-Fil-A.... oh the irony. I will go back again for certain and hopefully Georgia Beer Co. will have food fare available for ordering. I believe this place has...
