Kesler's Cocktail Lounge — Restaurant in Vallejo

Very average experience. My girlfriend and I, both in our early twenties, went to check this place out. First thing i noticed was the age of the crowd, definately an older bunch. The only people present when we got there around 7:45 were a few 'regulars' talking to the bartender. The bartender was nice but didn't know how to make several drinks we asked for (Tic-Tac, Trashcan, not difficult drinks but definately for younger folks). The regulars made a snide comment when I attempted to order a drink that the bartender didn't know, probably because I looked about a third his age. First drink we got was strong but the second was incredibly weak, not really sure there was even alchohol in it. The bar seemed clean and had pool tables available for a dollar per game, which I found strange because most bars i've been to charge no more than 50 cents. Live entertainment for the night was enjoyable, but we left before they really got going. The drinks were reasonably priced but not notably good. We had a really great time here last night. My beautiful lady and I were looking for a no-hassle bar to have a drink and play pool. This was the exact right place! Within a minute of being inside we were getting tall beers poured into frosted glasses and the lady next to me was cracking up at my British accent! Later we got Kentucky Mules in copper cups which were very strong and cheap. My lady felt very safe when she stepped out to smoke as there was a no nonsense security guy working the door and looking out for her. Increasingly more difficult to call myself a "regular" here anymore. The one, most frequent bartender is more interested in smoking a cigarette or checking out his phone, than catering to customers. Sadly, I am NOT the only one who notices this, and even the most recent bar manager wanted to get rid of him, but was overruled by the owner. This bar will continue to suffer very poor patronage because of poor management. Oh..did I mention that there have been several occasions where they have been WITHOUT alcohol?
