La Cuchara — Restaurant in Vallejo

So the first time I visited LaCuchara I did not know that there were two doors (the door I walked to was closed so I thought the place was closed), I was so disappointed I left because I was really craving pupusas.

A couple days later I came back & realized there was a second door that they leave open. Anyways! When I walked in I was surprised to see that the place was not packed. Other than my cousin & I, there was one table of 2. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a nice man at the cash register. To my surprise there was more Latin food than I expected from Mexican to Salvadoran. & the prices are reasonable.

We bought about 15 pupusas, 2 sopes, horchata & pineapple juice all for $60. As our order was being prepared, we sipped on our drinks & the nice man give us chips & salsa while we waited. And let me tell you, this salsa was so good & had the perfect kick of spice.

Within 15 mins our food was ready. & it was all worth it. Our family never had pupusas before & they loved it. The only sad thing is we wish we ordered bigger drinks.

If you're in the area, you definitely should not miss this place. It might look like a hole in the wall but the food & customer service...

Always drove by this place but never stopped in until yesterday in Vallejo. It's really hard to find a good place to eat and this place did not disappoint. Thank goodness because. Vallejo is disappointing in itself but the family that runs the place is very Friendly and attentive this place is clean And the little outdoor seating is adorable with. Shaded area Beautiful plants and picnic tables ...very Nice atmosphere.... The food was also very delicious, fresh salsa and chips while we waited for our food...I had the carne asada plate the meat was well seasoned and tender,my daughter had a giant carne asada burrito she loved it And hubby had some awesome fish Tacos and quesaberria tacos are Phenomenal!! I was just really surprised that we were the only ones there. I think this place is just overlooked I totally recommend this to anybody that wants some authentic delicious mexican food the michecheladas where...

Excellent food and outstounding service. We have been coming here for a few years and it never disappoints. Some of the best pastor tacos in the Bay Area. Also we LIVE for the birria tacos and consomé. The papusas are what I first tried here and are always delicious. The food is always hot and fresh and made with care. It’s a family owned business and the couple are so kind and will remember you after a few times. They recently renovated the place and it looks really cute-but honestly the food always speaks for itself so that doesn’t matter to us much. I see people ordering the soup all the time so that’s next on the list of many delicious...
