Little Maya Bakery — Restaurant in Vallejo

This little shop packs a lot in to a small space! Lots of variety in the pan dulce kept in glass cabinets along the back walls. It's self service- you choose your items then bring them to the register to pay. Everything was fresh! They also have lots of freshly made layer cakes in cases in the front of the shop. They range in price from $15 to $30 and are gorgeous! The fruit tart is a work of art, and rivals anything you could buy at Whole Foods bakery, for example. I purchased a strawberry cream layer cake for a NYE party, which was stunning visually and yummy in my yummy, where it counts. There's also a small seating area of maybe 2-3 tables, but with COVID and all no one was using them. A small parking lot right outside with about 10 spaces is busy on a holiday. I used to come to this bakery as a child at least everyday to buy their giant cookies which I'm happy they still have. I recently came on the 28th of January to buy a tres leches cake for my mom's birthday. I immediately knew what I wanted. Found a beautiful strawberry mousse cake and took it home. I surprised my mother with it and she LOVED it. She's not really a fan of pieces of fruit in cake so the mousse was a pleasant surprise. She also loved the whip cream icing. From a personal view, the cake I bought was very moist inside, with a generous amount of strawberry mousse. The design on the cake was a simple, but elegant white with glazed strawberries on top. I was really disappointed today, we are frequent customers love their cakes. We went to pick up a cake, but it wasn’t ready so we waited for it. The issue was bc my four year old son needed it to use the restroom and when we asked to use it the man who identified himself as the manager was really rude and didn’t want to let my son use the restroom. The “manager” didn’t provide his name or the owner’s information to make a formal complaint. Do yourself a favorite...
