The Grind Cafe LLC — Restaurant in Vallejo

I love The Grind, rather I really really want to. Please, try them for yourself and be relaxed in your expectations. The friendly and clean atmosphere is great and I love supporting these folks. I’m hoping this review can be helpful, primarily to the good folks at The Grind. I’ve never actually received my food and beverages correctly as ordered, and to be clear I’m not being hella custom, just ordering standard menu items. Tried ordering on the web so they have it clearly written, tried ordering in person and waiting. I don’t like the flavors of some of the ingredients, like the choice of sausage or the cook on the eggs, but that’s a personal preference so nbd I can avoid that. We’ve spent $30+ on 5 occasions and have now conceded defeat. Last time my bagel order was missing a key ingredient and my “iced coffee” was so nasty I chose a caffeine headache instead of trying to drink it (hot coffee had a few ice cubes thrown into the cup leaving a terrible temperature, bad tasting, diluted and ultimately un-drinkable result, my not picky wife confirmed and it got poured out). I’m also not one to raise a fuss in person, so I’ve never called or gone back in about it. Maybe they would respond wonderfully but I’m not the one who’ll find out. I usually just ghost, but with The Grind I actually care enough to hope they might want to know and maybe try to adjust. But if they stay busy it’s just not for me and I’m still glad they’re there...

I have been a loyal customer of The Grind since moving into the neighborhood back in 2015, when Annette and her family members still ran it. I remained a loyal customer even after Annette sold it, and the business started to decline, and was being run by a Mexican family who had ZERO IDEA about coffee, pastries, sandwiches and what they were doing. Then, Kelly and Sue bought it, and REALLY turned it around. I don't know what the bad reviews are talking about, I patronize this place DAILY on my way to work (I work in SF), and I've NEVER had an issue with my food. And there have been furry family members behind that counter as far back as I've been patronizing the place (not a dog person? Get over it!). And their Lavender White Mochas are the BOMB!!!! The coffee is excellent, sourced locally from Moschetti, over on 6th St. Kelly and Sue are SUPER sweet people, and really nice and amiable to chat with. This place remains my "go-to" and will most likely remain my go-to until...

We've been to The Grind before, but it has been a while. So, today I took a break to pop in for 1 meat and 1 veggie burrito and two latte's. Let me tell you....this place NEVER disappoints!!!!! Our food and beverage had sat for a bit because I wanted to give time for them to make my order, so I sat in the car for like 5-10 mins. When I picked up my order, my drink was still hot to the touch! When I drove off drinking it, it was still hot! Not scalding hot, but the beverage was made so well to temp that it stayed hot until I got home! That's when I tore into my veggie burrito...O....M.....G...., if you haven't tried it, get there today!!!!! Guacamole, sauce and a veggie sausage that is so very flavorful! You'll be glad you tried and will go back repeatedly for more!!!!! The Grind is ON THEIR...
