Gourmand's Deli & Coffee — Restaurant in Valley View

My coworkers and I have gotten lunch there almost everyday since our company moved in the area, and for the most part this place is an awesome spot to grab a bite. However, last week one of my coworkers ran to the shop to grab our lunches since we all paid separately, and my card was double charged. He brought back the receipts and none of them equal out to what I was double charged. I visited the store and spoke with an elderly woman behind the counter about the double charge the next morning, and her response was, "we must have double charged your card, so that's our bad." We went forward with the refund, but then she said, "if you can have someone from the office pay for their free meal, that would be great."

How are you going to admit you guys messed up and then, essentially, shake a customer down for money THEY DO NOT OWE YOU? YOU guys messed up. WE, the customers, paid for our meals. In the end, that coworker went to pay this amount we technically did not owe, but that is not customer service. That is not how you run a small business. If this happens, you do what any other company would do; you write it off on your taxes or eat the charge. You DO NOT pursue a loyal customer to pay off a tab THEY DO NOT OWE YOU. This place rocks. This is a foodie's dream. The owner Greg and his wife have carefully built a fantastic place to go to get away from chains and fast food. You can get breakfast and lunch. This place satisfies all, from the health conscious to the person looking for something to put you into a food coma! There are local beers and wine to try and support OH. There are even cigars to select from. You can create your own custom salad which you can have them keep on file to call in your order.
