Jade Garden — Restaurant in Valparaiso

So my girlfriend and I ordered take out from this establishment, and we ordered egg rolls with our meal. Online there is ZERO information about what is on the egg rolls, and they do not notify that they contain shrimp. This is EXTREMELY dangerous, as it could potentially kill someone. When I ordered the egg rolls, I didn't ask what was in them, as the default at other chinese places tends to be vegetable when you don't specify. Upon getting home and eating one, I found shrimp, told my girlfriend to not eat them, as she is allergic, and called to at least say "Hey, maybe your bosses should put out that the default egg roll is shrimp." And i was not at all rude, and the girl who answered said "Well, normally everyone asks." And then HUNG UP ON ME.

Poor business practice, extremely dangerous to not advertise that the basic option is shrimp, and extremely rude to hang up. I could understand if I was being a perk, but I was...

Servers here are always very pleasant, haven't been for a while, but they had always been consistent in the past with the food they prepare. This time it was off, not as much meat and vegetables in my no spice hot Singapore chow mi,( last word spelling, not sure if right.)it had way to many of the noodles in comparison to what I usually get. Will go back, hoping it was just an off day, new cook perhaps. Still tasted good. Adding to this review, it is oct. 2020 during covid times, I don't order much food, but this place is definitely one of my go to places when I am out and need to eat. They are so very efficient, I have never waited long, i like the set up, you call when you arrive, they come to a door that opens partway onto a small metal table and you pay there and pick up your food. Same great quality, no complaints at all this time, staff is very friendly...

First off I have eaten here many times over the course of several years and enjoyed the food. The food is decent and good and fairly priced The reason for The poor review is their timing... It's currently middle of October 2020 and it's a 45-minute wait for my food now it's not like I ordered anything fancy two large orders of barbecued pork fried rice and a couple of egg rolls after talking with several customers outside waiting who have been waiting over an hour for their food to get handled a single bag of food there's something wrong going on here It should not take an hour to get simple food but this is a Chinese restaurant for takeout when they tell you 20 minutes we tend to expect it and believe it The longest I've ever seen was 25 minutes on a super bowl sunday. the service was ridiculous they need to work on their timing and...
