Semento's — Restaurant in Valparaiso

Food is good but allowing smoking in a nice restaurant like this is ridiculous. It’s discrimination against non smokers. Went home and had to throw my clothes in the washer and take a shower. Take a lesson from Leroy's Hot Stuff in Porter. They banned smoking inside the bar/restaurant and business picked up. Will not be returning to Sementos!

I don't understand how in this day and age, a bar/restaurant like yours still allows smoking. You not only lose business, but you increase the chances of your staff (those that don't smoke) getting cancer from secondhand smoke. You could quite literally be responsible for one's death. To put your employees through that is criminal - and I know they can quit. But obviously you don't care about their health and the fact that they come home each day after work smelling like...

Passing through Valpo looking for a hometown mom and pop style (not upscale stuffy) Restaurant/Bar and luckily we noticed this charming inviting gem on Rt 30. Loved the warm welcoming feel of this place from the second we walked in. I normally don't have the attention span to do a review, but this place is well worth the effort. There was three of us in our party and we ordered three different dinner menu items. All three meals were absolutely fantastic. Each person was so impressed with their meal we had the others in our party try a taste. We had lasagna, Italian beef sandwich loaded with delish toppings, and Pesto Pasta with Parmesan crusted chicken YUM! The service was top notch and everyone that worked there was super friendly, even servers that wasn't waiting on us checked in on us. I have had amazing experiences throughout the years I have been to Senentos. The utter disrespect and pretentiousness I witnesed first hand from myself and others was unwarranted. Jordan was an absolute disappointment. I have dealt with him twice in two days and he has to be the most unprofessional person I've dealt with within the establishment. He has responded to questions in a condescending way and I have witnessed him talk down to others. He blatantly made I eye contact with customers and just passed them up and helped out people that he knew (unassumingly).
