I used to love this place but now after Friday's experience I don't think we will be back. The To go orders were so many that you could feel the tension in the kitchen, I almost turned around then but because I love the falafel so much I chalked up to being a lil delay. 45 mins after our order we got it and it was cold, the fryer was down and instead of coming to us and saying the fryer is down can we get you something else, they were fried in a pan ,terrible. On top of that they got my husband's order totally wrong, so I sat with my food till he got his 10 mins later, at this point everything was not worth eating. When we left out no thank you for coming , IDK. Just a bad day for them, maybe they should do pickup only, dine in customers don't matter so much it seems. Good...

First think walking in that I noticed was the smell, it wasn't pleasant at all. If I can compare it to something I would say I smelt like a basement or crawl space that had water damage. But I tried not to think about it too much, because I was there for the food. To drink I ordered water, but the water was nasty, mainly it was because it was "Van Alstyne Water" it tasted bad, but if I could make a recommendation, don't give you customers something that's nasty, it's your restaurant you choose their experience. Maybe buy bottled water, or get a filter installed. Highlight was the chicken and bread. But everything else I ordered didn't taste as good as I was hoping. I do hope this restaurant can get it's act in gear, I feel there is potential but sadly I wouldn't...

Wow. The best Mediterranean food I have had since moving to Texas. This quiet joint in downtown Van Alstyne is a hidden gem. The dolmas are lemony the way I Iike. Got the chicken shawarma and it was seasoned perfectly and tender. The regular hummus was good. My other half got a gyro and it was perfect though he said he like my chicken better. Hot mint tea made it a very authentic experience. I could drive 30 min to my south to the shops of Legacy and pay double each dish and have all the traffic headaches or drive 25 min northeast through the country for fantastic Mediterranean at great prices. I was too busy enjoying a great meal for lunch to be bothered with taking...

Never tried this place before so was a little scared to spread my roots of Mexican food or Chinese. Sat down in wonderful old style room and ordered it meals. After the first bite I couldn't stop eating. Flat bread served with hummus was it first enjoyment. Then when the main meal came out I was sold. Will defiantly recommend to everyone. Staff is extremely friendly. Love the old Town feel when you arrive at this establishment. Just a short distance from the highway and well worth it! Great for a date night with your significant other or the family in whole. We came just before the dinner rush that was filling up as we were leaving!

This is such an amazing gem of a restaurant!! My sis and I were looking for middle eastern on the road and chose this place off of google maps. We were so so impressed with not only the food but with how the owner Jafar made us feel like family!! 😃 Jafar’s assistant Andrew shared with us the history of the classic building the restaurant is housed in. It used to be an old bank where apparently Bonnie and Clyde robbed this location. This is definitely a place everyone needs to come and check out! Truly spectacular and memorable!!

Perfection! There is not one bad thing I say about this restaurant! The service is awesome, the place is beautifully decorated and clean. The food, oh man, the food is delicious! I had the Turkish coffee and trust me when I say WOW, it is not for the faint of heart. I ordered the chicken curry on basmati rice with lentil soup and the hummus and it did not disappoint at all! Lastly, I had the baklava, it tasted like heaven with each bite!!! This is a must return soon kind of place!
