DANGS ICE CREAM — Restaurant in Van Buren Charter Township

This was my first time trying DANGS ice cream as they just opened up about 2 months ago and their first impression/customer experience has me impressed. I’ve been wanting to try their ice cream to see what differs them from the others locals in the area and I will surely be returning soon. Instantly, as soon as I walked inside I was greeted by the staff. I was very impressed at how clean the establishment was all the way to the bathroom and especially behind the counter. It was very clean, stocked no towels or spills in sight. That actually made me extremely comfortable and ready to order my ice cream as it’s hard to find a clean establishment or atleast one that takes pride in appearance. They had an array of different options that it didn't make making a choice any easier 🤣 So I decided to try a flavor I never had so I went with birthday cake. The serving size was very generous for the price and it was actually fairly priced and even lower when compared to locals which was a plus. It’s so many options I want to try that next time I go back I will be getting me a waffle cone with raspberry or maybe peach ice cream they have so many options I may have to try at least...

First time here and they served Ashby's which is a brand of ice cream my family and I love. The young man was nice and the prices were reasonable with a good selection of flavors and desserts. We purchased a cup with 1 scoop and a second cup with 2 scoops and paid $8.00. Not bad. Deducting two stars because a young woman (wearing glasses and a braided ponytail for reference) walked into the store for her shift as I was checking out with the young man, went behind the counter and blew her nose around the food, then proceeded to open the ice cream freezer, without washing her hands. Gross, unsanitary, and unprofessional. Please make sure your employees understand food Safety health code violations. Blow your nose off of the floor, away from food/customers, then wash your hands thoroughly with soap...

The ice cream is fine but the service is discombobulated. I was with my husband getting ice cream he ordered a sundae I ordered a flurry. A large group of maybe 10+ people came in behind us. The one employee was helping the couple in front of us. He took their order then made their items. He then took our order and proceeded to take the large groups order. They got ice cream scoops with toppings so he got all of their scoops and weighed them before taking their payment. THEN he remembered us and made our order he did not make their shakes until we left but still... I arrived before the group I didn't appreciate waiting for them to pick out their toppings. Seems like they should have more than 1...
