Shawarma Valley — Restaurant in Van Buren Charter Township

I stopped in Shawarma Valley after a friend recommended it. Honestly, I’m not from the area and have a high bar. But this place exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in until I left I had nothing short of an exceptional experience. I received a friendly greeting immediately upon entering and was handed a menu. I was honest with the owner that I was pressed for time and he assured me he could make my order quickly. I ordered the falafel bowl and made accommodations. I was very pleased to see bowl options as not every place offers bowls. The owner chatted with me as I waited and made me feel like my business truly mattered and he wanted me to be happy. I was blown away! Not only was the bowl aesthetically pleasing, but the taste was exceptional! Fresh ingredients and incredible flavor throughout. And the portion size will last me at least two meals. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you to the kind man that served me today. I still feel guilty he wouldn’t accept my tip but I hope he reads this and knows he was a ray of light in my day! If you haven’t tried this place, do yourself a favor...

We finally tried this place for the first time. We ordered Lamb Kabob dinner with Baba ghanoush and rice pilaf. Fatoush, and Tawook sandwich.

Everything was fantastic!! I loved how dressing for Fatoush had a perfect balance of tanginess and savory flavor. It's not too sour unlike a lot of other places are. Great crisp texture and extremely refreshing and satisfying.

Baba ghanoush was a very pleasant and addicting dish! Velvety creamy texture with sophisticated smokey umami flavor. I couldn't stop eating it! The gentleman(owner?) at the counter gave us extra pitas to tackle the generous potion of the Baba ghanoush.

My girlfriend had a Tawook sandwiches and it had so much delicious chunks of savory chicken!! Perfectly seasoned and garlicky and very satisfying!

I had the Lamb Kabob dinner, and it was big and beautiful. Plenty of rice, pickles, and lamb. Extremely satisfying! I got so full trying to finish it. It's gonna be my tasty lunch tomorrow😋

AMAZING FOOD WORTH EVERY PENNY. We ate here on our way to a play, not realizing it is more of a take-out place than a sit-down restaurant, so we were seriously overdressed. Still, we're so glad we went. We ordered the "family combo for two", so we could each try a bunch of different menu items. We wondered if the combo for "two" would be enough for our party of three, but the portions are so generous, that we had enough left over to easily feed another 2 or more people. If you're on a budget, this is a great way to feed your family... two adults and 2-3 kids (or more?) for under $50, which these days you cannot do at any fast food place, and this food is soooo much more delicious and nutritious. My daughter and niece especially loved the steak kabobs, I loved the falafel, and we all agreed the hummus and pitas were AMAZING! Everything was cooked to perfection, fresh and full of flavor. The staff were very sweet and friendly. The place was small and humbly furnished, but very clean. I will go out of my way to come here again to take out dinner on my way...
