Fricker's Van Wert — Restaurant in Van Wert

My son and I went there as we lost power at our house in Indiana as about 3000 customers lost power so we went east to Van Wert looking for a place to eat and with it only being 20 minutes we were okay with that. We walk in and saw the wait to be seated sign so we waited a few minutes and no one showed us to a table so we picked one out. It was 10 minutes before a server came out and asked us what we wanted to drink so she took our drink order and soon after that another server came by to ask us for our drink again a few minutes later. While this was happening I Googled the reviews on Frickers, it was only 3.6 stars with complaints of slow service and bad food and I am thinking so far pretty accurate reviews. We got our food about 20 minutes later, my son order a burger and I ordered mini cheeseburger sliders and onion straws, nasty things, lol. Our burgers were overdone on the outside like hockey pucks and pink in the middle, my sliders had a very small pickle about the size of a dime and the cheese slice was thin and about the size of a quarter slice of cheese. No one came back to check on us and they were not very busy so I don't understand that part. So overall I wouldn't even give this place one star as the poor reviews I read were right on the mark. The only tip I left was the change of 70 cents that came from the bill being $24.30 and I gave $25. So I will definitely never visit this...

Tonight is the first time that we ate at a Fricker's restaurant. We waited about 10 minutes before a server attended our table. We ordered the Ribs and chicken. After about 15 minutes the waitress came over to tell us that they were out of the Ribs. Then we ordered the BBQ chicken chunks, Garlic Parmesan chicken chunks, a cheeseburger, Mac n cheese, and brew city fries. We changed tables because the wooden stools were too hard for sitting for a long time. We waited about 45 before the food arrived. The only item that came hot to the table was the fries. Everything else was cold and barely luke warm. They weren't that busy and not packed with customers. The service was not good. The other 2 servers in the dining room didn't acknowledge us at all. They didn't even smile at us. Our server didn't come over to ask if we wanted a drink refill until we got her attention. She refilled my boyfriend's drink once. We will not go back there again. The table was dirty when we sat down. Two other tables still had the dirty dishes for awhile because the waitresses were busy talking to customers. We asked a server to clean the table and she said she was sorry for the table being dirty and sticky! Not cleaning tables properly will make them sticky! We're very disappointed with their service! Not a good first time...

Visiting a friend here in Van Wert, Ohio & stopped at this Frickers to grab some supper. Was not impressed. As people I know saying "oh try this place, best chicken around" Ummm no. Yeah it was nice n hot n fresh but absolutely no flavor in the breading. They do not make there wings 'wet' as to what the waitress said. They do not have buffalo seasoning sauce. When I think of 'wet' chicken wings I think of mild buffalo sauce on them. So I tried a lil cup of their bourbon BBQ sauce, it was just ok. The one thing I really liked was the beer cheese with the pretzel bites. (Definitely try those) Our waitress was ditzy & kept forgetting things. Maybe she was having a bad day, still tipped her well. ;) Could be a great place to go & grab some alcoholic drinks & watch a sports game for people but I do not drink nor do I watch sports. This place reminds me of a Buffalo Wild Wing (BWW) restaurant. The game room had 8 games to play. Which to me wasn't interesting enough to play but when I was leaving I seen this Chucky Chevy sitting out in the parking lot & this totally made my experience at Frickers so much...
