Its Friday night in downtown St. Elmo. Google says that this small restaurant closed at 7 pm. Wrong. Friday and Saturday the quaint American fare restaurant is open until 8 pm.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, chose from their smoked meat dinnee menu on a Friday night.Offeing smoked BBQ brisket, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, with sides of green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries, dinner salads, it was a good meal. In fact, I thought the brisket and baked beans were EXCELLENT.
Glad I found this restaurant, and didn't settle for typical highway chain restaurant...

Read moreThe reviews are correct! This is a homey, small-town diner with great food. Most of the patrons are locals, but the staff are very friendly to travelers as well. The chairs are nicely padded, which we really appreciated. The bathrooms are clean. Most importantly, the food is cooked perfectly and served hot. The prices are great as well.
