Wendy's — Restaurant in Vandalia

Wendy's has always been one of my favorite fast food restaurants, but this one was a little strange. The employee who took our order seemed confused by our request to leave the swiss cheese off our sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and had to get her manager to help. She then said she was having trouble because she hadn't slept the night before. She did look very tired! Then the toaster oven broke and the manager came over to take it apart and fix it. Boy was it filthy inside! Dried grease and full of crumbs ugh. Luckily they have 2 ovens and we got our biscuit sandwiches. We both threw the biscuits away because they were hard and crumbly. The weirdest part though was that the eggs had really hot peppers in them! Wow! Very strange and not very appealing. The breakfast potatoes were good. The seating was nice and the tables were clean. I ordered a regular cold brew iced coffee but unfortunately it had an odd flavor and I threw it away. Overall a pretty disappointing experience which was surprising because Wendy's is one of the better...

Ok, I know it just fast food right, maybe... IT'S NOT JUST FAST FOOD. Let me explain, it's the experience you have in the restaurant and this Wendy's location gets it! We were traveling through to St. Louis and as stopped for a lunch break. We were a good 2 1/2 hours into our trip and had another 1 1/2 hours to Brentwood, Mo. Our experience when we walked in was striking, we approached the ordering counter, looked at the menu posted high above the heads of the staff. As we approached in unison the 40 something manager greeted us with a beaming smile, just as the teen working the order system also simultaneously smiled and another team member smiled in the background. Wow nice people who want you to have a good experience and are happy you chose their place for lunch. COOL! We placed the standard order burgers fries, drinks AND $0.50 Frostie's! Was there saturday night at around 8:30. Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and a large 10 piece nugget meal (which I asked for fresh chicken). I work in fast food so I know it’s around 5 minutes for it to cook and I looked at the fryer and one said 2.5 minutes left and the other one three. She gave me the spicy chicken sandwich and the large hot fries and said she’d bring the nuggets out. Not even 2 minutes later she gave them to me. They tasted okay but later that night I woke up terribly sick puking. I had food poisoning. Wasted all yesterday with nausea, diarrhea terrible headaches and had no energy. Thanks...
