We came in on July 4th at 3 pm — not exactly a busy time. The waitress was really friendly and we chatted for a while, which was nice. Made us feel right at home. The food… my wife likes liver and onions but is really picky about it… she took a chance on it and absolutely loved it. She really loved the collard greens as well. The mashed potatoes were especially creamy and delicious. I had boneless wings and they usually will only do one sauce but since they weren’t busy they gave me two. I liked the Thai best. The food was good enough that we dug in before we took the obligatory picture!

So a friend suggested i try Dugout cafe in Venice FL. He had posted about it and well let me tell you it was the best cheeseburger i have had in a long time! I love the SoCal style burgers i get when i travel to San Diego. if you know you know.. The fresh produce, crafted bun and a hardy size patty seasoned just right. Well Dugout is just that for me. The couple that own it are super nice and I could of sat and talked to them all night. If you want a lunch spot are even takeout dinner I highly suggest to run don't walk and give it a try.

We popped into this hidden gem. Walked in, everyone was welcoming, sat right down and glad we didn't have to fight or wait for the after church crowds. I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was fantastic! The cuban bread was crisp but soft and the shrimp were breaded to perfection and flavorful. My friend got the dugout breakfast which was eggs, hasbrowns, bacon(perfectly cooked) and he said it was delicious. Our drinks were never empty and very attentive. Awesome mom and pop place. Definitely check them out and we'll be back!

Came here on a Friday night. Wasn’t too busy, but had a decent amount of people at every table. Super small place. The girl working up front seemed super overwhelmed. I had 3 people in my party, including me. My mom and I’s meal came out first (Cod meal and Shrimp basket). Waited about 10 minutes for the other persons meal (chicken tenders). Food was decent, but not overly exceptional. Menu did not state that an extra up charge would be put on the bill for extra fries instead of coleslaw. The poor girl was very overwhelmed, she needed help very badly. I think there was 3 people working, her, the manager, and someone in the back. Many customers did not have silverware, and were going up to the front to ask for it. Even my mom did not have any silverware in her rolled napkin, only a knife. They also don’t have any beer or wine, but the girl told us they’ll be getting their license soon. Definitely might recommend for someone who wants to carry out for a quick meal, but definitely not a great sit down. Disappointed to...

Service was excellent from the one Waitress. Only one server is needed because there are only about 6-8 tables. The food was good. I got the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn. The meatloaf is good . it's a big slice with onions and gravy. The mashed are homemade and the corn is good. My wife had the special, Friday night fish n chips "Grouper." Good quality fish , beer battered.. One piece but Grouper is expensive so it's expected..My son has the pot roast. It tastes better than it looks because it's very dark, probably made with blackening seasoning (which is different for pot roast, ) but the meat was actually tender and taste pretty good. The gravy it comes with was also tastes better than it looks . Overall this place is definitely worth your time and money. They also serve beer and wine..Will be trying the breakfast, lunch...

An undiscoved gem! Portions are substantially large, food is incredibly good, service excellent! Wings were the best I've had and I LOVE wings! Moist and juicy on the inside and super crispy on the outside. Phenomenonal. Ribs were 4 huge, smoky, meaty, moist, just outstanding! Best in town and served with choice of 2 sides. Smothered pork chops were nice and thick, tender, juicy and served with 2 sides. Prices are startlingly low and beyond reasonable. Left stuffed and walked out with 3 boxes of food for dinner, which I am going to enjoy immensely! This little gem will quickly become the favorite in Venice. After one visit, we are hooked. Great diverse menu, super friendly owners. We are going to work our way through the...
