Worst experience we've had in a long time. We usually go to Mi Pueblo or plaza mexicano but my husband wanted to try Chicanos tonight. We sat down ordered drinks and it took about 10 minutes before the waiter was even ready to take our order so by that point we decided we were just going to order our food to go because we didn't wanna be stuck there for an hour. We placed our to go order and then 35 minutes later we still don't have our food and we have to leave to go pick up our kids so my husband is super irritated so we go up to the front and ask if our food is ready because we need to leave the guy says yeah it should be ready any minute another 5 minutes goes by and then it turns out that our food had been sitting up by the host stand for God knows how long while we're just standing there waiting. My husband ordered a taco salad with no sour cream we get home and their is sour cream all over it so he couldn't eat his meal a giant glob of it right in the middle. I ordered the chicken chimichanga which says on the menu that it's "smothered" in red sauce. I get home and open my Box and there's absolutely no red sauce or anything over top of my chimichanga Took a bite and it's extremely dry which is to be expected since there's no sauce of any kind over top of it. I called the restaurant and Mandy said that there's nothing that she can do because she can't comp my meal because of missing a red sauce but that kind of ruins the entire meal I don't want a dry chimney changa that's not how they're meant to be eaten. Overall the customer service is absolutely terrible. Nobody should ever have to wait 40 minutes for a to go order when both orders came out incorrectly made. we will not be back as there are plenty of other Mexican options in this city. Also, the queso just tasted like it was melted velveta cheese, it didn't taste like actual queso at all for a place that says they serve " authentic " Mexican food. My family and I like to eat Mexican food at least once a week so unfortunately for them they just lost some great customers due to their lack of compassion and customer service. Charging somebody for 2 meals that took 40 minutes to prepare and both were made wrong is just bad business. Enjoy the $32.00. Hope it was worth losing years of business.

We might have caught Chicanos on a bad day. After all, it was during the Christmas cold snap and overcast and about 49 degrees. And the tail end of the lunch special timeframe. The rating is due to the temperature, the cost for chips and inferior salsa, as well as the plain enchiladas. I hate to provide a rating of 3 stars unless service is poor but the service was good so it was a difficult decision and the charge for chips seemed ridiculous. My bride and I just needed a nice warm place to enjoy a light lunch so we chose Chicanos for it’s location. Upon entering the doors with the pepper handles, we were greeted …. By no one. The black painted walls and the chilled air and lack of any response made us second guess staying. However, the number of diners was impressive enough so we could tell the staff was simply busy. But we were still cold and hoped once we were seated away from the doors, it would be comfortable. Not really. It was a little better but I could not help but wonder if the furnace was working. I could see the decorative ceiling mounted paper flags moving so air was being blown out. Oh well, we would deal with it but I decided then I would not order my preferred Mexican meal beverage, beer or margarita. We would settle on water. Our server was pleasant and apparently warm in her thick turtle neck sweater, reminding me how cold I was. She was professional and busy and after we placed our order from the typical menu, she asked if we wanted chips. At that point I suspected there would be a charge for chips where everywhere else I have been, chips were complimentary. Here they are $3.75. But they were nice and warm. The salsa was a sharper salsa with too much vinegar taste. Or chicken enchiladas with rice and beans came out in short order. They were okay but not great. Can enchiladas be great though? My issue however was the after taste that lingered for the next 10 minutes. Not recommended. I did like the manner in which we paid our bill. Our server provided us with a POS device where we could see our order and costs and payment method. We were able to complete the transaction at our leisure yet due to the cold climate inside, we were quick and returned to our car, which was warmer than Chicano’s.

After reading the excellent reviews recently (a week ago) we decided to try Chicanos. Needless to say it was an absolutely terrible experience. It took 10 minutes to put in a drink order, then we had asked for our table to be cleaned our server then forgot. We asked again and asked for a new drinking glass because it was filthy. He came to clean the table but forgot the glass. We placed our order and it took 45 minutes to get our food. 45 !!!! For Mexican food, it’s not like they were slammed. Then my food came out and it was wrong so was sent back and the picture below is what I received because they ran out of rice. So my meal was highly incomplete. The only thing that is giving this a star was our server. His name was Sid. He was very apologetic and polite and keep apologizing for the poor service and problems. we noticed he was doing the job of 4 he was serving, bussing, hosting, and food running. So the fault is not his. There was no manager on the floor or anywhere to be found which would explain the disarray of the restaurant in the kitchen and the floor. We will not come back here and continue to frequent Mi Pueblo for their food is prompt, and their floor service is excellent and full of staff.

Beware if any Server or business says your card was declined! Follow up! 1st time here. My friend recommended this place. She loved her meal. I did Not. To be safe w/my pepper allergy, I ordered a no-seasoning piece of grilled chicken on salad w side dressing. Food took a long time to come out. My chicken was very dry bc it was old and overcooked. It didn't taste good. The salad underneath had a a very bitter nauseating almost fishy smell and taste to it. When I tried to move the avocado pieces from the salad, they were very slimy. Is avocado supposed to feel slimy?? I tried to eat more of the chicken and pick some healthy looking lettuce to eat but I gave up. The nasty taste was in the entire salad. No, I didn't tell the server. My friend was enjoying her meal and I did not want to upset her. Service- The waiter was pleasant and took my allergy in stride, and understood. Service was slow for what we ordered. Multiple ppl took care of us. Then, he said my card was declined... suspicious... Atmosphere- It was OK. PACO, the bird outside was great. The Bill: It was accurate so I paid w/my debit card. My friend and I stayed to talk more. Server came back and said my card was declined! I gave my friend all the cash I had and she covered the rest, including tip. The people next to us had the same problem. I monitored my bank account- IT said the transaction was pending!! You know what I was thinking. I called them, asked for the owner. He was apologetic and said they got a new POS system and they had trouble with it. He asked me to be 100% confident the charge went thru bc it was the weekend and the bank acct said it was "pending". I had plenty of $$ in the acct, so it wasn't my fault... On Monday the charge definitely went through. I txtd Chicano owner, and provided another new SS showing it accepted the charge. The owner asked me to come back and he would refund me the cash. He was very apologetic. I asked him to try and locate the other couple bc it happened to them, also. I did return to Chicanos for our money. The server was still there. The owner refunded the money and...
