Ventnor Social — Restaurant in Ventnor City

Honestly super disappointed in the place. We loved the location when it was Santuccis and therefore had high hopes. Gave it two chances, both times the checks were incorrect, the food came out undercooked or spoiled. We went for 75c wing night (increments of 8 wings) with $3 miller and yuengling draft. There was maybe 4 tables in total and we had to flag down our waitress anytime we needed anything. Meanwhile we was checking in with the other 3 tables on a consistent basis. We also asked if they could put on the live Phillies game since most of their TVs were on menu screens, our waitress gave us attitude about it and said she would ask. For the next 15 minutes she was outside chatting with the hostesses. We finally asked a pleasant young gentleman who had to bring us our food if he could turn on the Phillies game. He turned it on and we heard our original waitress making fun of us to the other staff about putting the game on. My blue cheese was rancid and our check was substantially more expensive than menu and special prices. We asked to chat with the manager in regards to this and our waitress again got another attitude. When speaking to the manager they just shrugged and said they had just changed the special online and that they were already aware that our check was incorrect. Do you ever just walk into a place and feel uneasy? That’s how this place feels. At first glance, place is gorgeous. Especially out front near the hostess. But it is quite literally lipstick on a pig.

As you walk upstairs you can immediately tell it needs not only a dusting but a good cleaning. Bar area had about 50 flies, all of which could be avoided (outside or not) if the beer tap area was cleaned and the syrups weren’t dripping down the bottles. Had a rancid smell.

Moving downstairs, the arcade games are completely unnecessary. Makes the place come off as cheap, not special. Bar stools were broken. Bartender ignored us the entire time. We planned on staying for trivia but I had such a bad feeling and icky atmosphere that we decided to leave.

As a local who grew up here, I never want to make bad reviews. But I felt inclined to do so, because as someone who has worked in customer service their entire life, the staff needs to have some training as well as learn how to clean and not lean. The lack of cleanliness alone had me 🫠

Went with my father in law for the upstairs deck which was closed off so decided to sit downstairs anyway. Waited extremely too long to be asked if we needed anything and then waited what seemed like an eternity for each new beer. As for the food, my father in law said his tuna bites were very good but cheesesteak egg rolls were average. As for my food, it never came out. My father in law ate both of his apps so when I asked for the check they asked how everything was. I told them it was terrible since I never received my food and the service was the worst. He ran to the back and said my food “just got done”. A chicken wrap doesn’t take 45 minutes. Thanks anyway pal…take it off my bill so I can leave this dump.
