Lalo's Ristorante Italiano — Restaurant in Ventura

I went with my child at the end of the day and I ordered Lasaña and Calamari to go.

When I arrived home and see the food. The Calamari was dry and you can tell re-heat and overcooked. It seems leftovers from the day. The garlic bread was burned and dry.

The worst thing is that the calamari had few ants that I don't know where come from and I assume it was because the calamari was leftovers. The Lasaña was okay. This was on evening. We don't know if this was an act of discrimination not their normal practices. Waiters seems friendly and I don't know if they knew what I was receiving as "meal" but I cannot believe that the food could benon-fresh, but instead leftovers, reheated and dry. I am not returning back to this restaurant. That was my first and last time visiting...

I went here on a weekday night and the atmosphere inside and out was nice. The staff were also quite nice too. Unfortunately, the food, wait time for the food, price and experience were not good. I had ordered the lasagna and it was extremely bland. The sauce had very little flavor and there was not enough cheese between layers. I had to put hot sauce on the table just so I could taste more than the meat of the lasagna to bring out the flavor of the tomato sauce. There was not enough seasoning or garlic in it. Lalo's came recommended by friends and with good reason. The staff made a great first impression. They acted like they were legitimately happy to see us and that warmth and concern was in evidence throughout our entire stay. The bread was light and crusty, perfectly crunchy on the outside. I had Pollo alla Limone. The presentation was really nice and the lemon flavor was strong enough you couldn't miss it, but never overpoweringly so. We sampled a variety of desserts and, once again, there was a lot of thought put into dressing the plates.
